| Last year I've got the Papo Marabou Stork and the Greater Flamingo. But until now they are bending. So they cannot stand by their own anymore. I tried to fix them two times with the boiled and cold water method, but they started again. Have you an idea what I can do now?
Greetings from Germany |

| I know that problem a lot of years. It started for me with VEP Plaho. Never find a idea against that |

| Yes, the Marabou body is too heavy for the base and the legs. |

| Ok. I thought only my Marabou would be such a trouble maker... These two are my worst Papos, because of the fact, that they cannot stand by themself. |

| My marabou and my flamingo have the same problem.. After many attempts, I managed to fix the marabou. I agree with Andreas, is one problem for many years ago. Many animals , made in China had this problem in legs, but really these figures were not expensive. Now we see this problem in animals of famous brands that are very expensive. I think, that Papo should say us how solve this problem. |

| I fixed the Marabou's base by putting some self hardening clay underneath it until it was stable again. The next day I painted the clay the same colour as the base. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| It would fall of the shelf every now and then and always in the middle of the night. After 3 almost heart attacks, I'm sleeping like a baby again. Heheh.

| I was thinking of buying this marabou but this thread set me off.. I wonder, has anyone a papo marabou that has no problem standing over time? Does it worth the risk getting it? The one I saw here in a shop stands well, but as I understand the problem is not obvious at first...

| Same problem! Sanded the marking at the bottom, put sticky puty underneath, but he still kept bending forward. Had to remove him out of my collection because he began a domini affect... Such a pity for such a nice figure. _________________ ~Karin~

| So, it's 9 people with unstable marabous.. Still no-one with a good one. I guess it doesn't worth the risk of getting this figure. |

| I have no problem but I can't display my figures (I have no place to) so my Marabou is always lying down in a box... |

Make it ten as I know an other member that has a wonky Marabou stork. I would spend my money on other figures and maybe take a look to find the Noah Palls Marabou stork pair. _________________ ~Karin~

| Make that 11, mine does not stand. I lean it on the bird next to it on my display. It has been fine so far, fallen only once, but I had initially decided to do exactly what Bloodrayne has done above. If it falls again then I will. _________________ More pictures of my Collection... | To be honest I might be the only person here who doesn't have problems with my flamingo, nor my marabou. They stand perfectly on my shelf without the support of anything else, they have only fallen when placed on carpet but that's expected as that's what happens to my giraffes and sometimes camels. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | This problem is so common if you collect dinosaurs! My maribou was delivered but packaged very well with strong cardboard supporting the legs...but it was never able to stand. _________________ More pictures of my Collection...
