| Another great batch! The wrinkley ones in the last photo are my favorites. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | This thread has made me realize that oh no, I REALLY like the Starlux! That golden brown okapi, wow. I think I will find them difficult to get my hands on in the US. You have a really beautiful collection with so many incredible vintage pieces. I love them! |

Are the grey boars earlier Starlux? I have never seen them. They are also missing on TAW, I think. I think. They look better to me than the later boars. As explained upper, they are Starlux big and little models I had customised a long time ago to make them more realistic.. but with a poor result. Mr Massat, the main sculptor from Sarlux animals, explained once that they found some of their models in fable or fairy books by lack of good pictures and it could explain why some models look so caricatural! :) |

| the variety of Starlux boars is wonderful! as always you have an amazing collection Alain:) and for once I can say that I also have the family with the 2 little striped piglets. I think their detailing is superb and the poses are really cute for the babies - Caracal wrote:

| I've played with the Britains one so many hours in the 70s.. Such a delight to see it again! I think mine was darker though. I still like it very much and I was about to buy it again, but I thought I shouldn't be nostalgic in this hobby or I will end up with all my childhood toys again.... |

Your repaints certainly look more realistic than the original Starlux. The fairy book story is very funny; it does indeed explain why some figures look like characters from a fairy story. |

| When you began showing your collection, I was a bit out and now I have so much to look at I will come back very soon On the pic, the repainded wild boar isn't a BF, it looks more like a CBG. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

I ususally don't collect domestic animals except some "almost wild"! In fact, these bulls help me to wait a true auroch.. I know it's a dream but some become real (Papo cave bear) here with a "Bos" from the coldness: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
