I have seen in a website called Antic ExLibris Discount books some animals by Timpo, They are, perhaps, the original pics obtained from Toyway website, a huge toy wholesaler and manufacurer

But are that Timpo figures? I knows that as large Nayab :)

Yes, they are Timpo animals. Many of the timpo models are the same as Nayab

The first is marked AAA and it is the Mamejo Nature version. The finish is exactly what we are used to see in AAA figures.

This one has a Timpo tag, is not marked and it is hollow.
A version with a poorer finish.

The mistery around AAA is very dense. It seems something that started in China and that we can find everywhere.

Many of the models I bought under the label Timpo are the same as Nayab.

There is a wolf and a coyote in your timpo collections?

I only have this wolf/coyote but they are by Nayab.

Is this Timpo related to the vintage Timpo UK brand that used to exist?

Judging by the info I can find Toyway seems to have bought some of the Timpo moulds-mainly soldiers etc but they also seem to have bought a lot of stock in hence the Nayab animals labelled as Timpo.They also seem to do Dinos as well under the Natural History Museum label of which I have 2.

That is also my understanding. ToyWay reused the brand Timpo in these Nayab/AAA figures as a consequence of the acquisition of Timpo Toys by Toyway. We can conclude that historically they are related but conceptually they represent completely different collections. Again, a challenge to TAW editors. I don't know if it is supposed to list the Timpo figures from Toyway once they use moulds listed under Nayab and AAA but they surely shouldn't be listed together with the vintage Timpo figures.

I see in a timpo toyway catalogue that Timpo is a registered trademark of Toyway Ltd.

Timpo a UK based company located in Jubilee trading center, in Letchworth, Herfordshire, England. Toyway is a manufacturer and wholesaler company. They have produced dinosaurs for and under licence of BBC Walking with Dinosaurs and Natural History museum London. I don't know if Toyway has designed the original moulds for the high quality Schleich-like animals or Toyway bought the models from another manufacturer and put the label Timpo on the models. On laughing giraffe forum a member, called RobertElephant told that most Timpo Toyway animals were produced from pics of Animal Encyclopedia, even with exact colors. He know the manufacturer that made that models. Toyway timpo animal was not sold to any company when toyway closed. In 2009 these animals were sold by Hamleys, a famous london toy shop.


The animal encyclopedia that Robert meant are actually various books published by Dorling Kindersley ( DK)


When Toyway released these animals are not expensive, the price was comparable that of Schleich and Safari Ltd models
