| Wonderful looking hen!! Are they not quite a rare breed in the UK? Susanne,I think the old Papo is one of the loveliest of the models as you say despite his ears! |

| As I am a poultry fancier I can give you the answer :) Friesians are a very ancient breed of hen (think they came about 1000 years ago) they are hard to find in the UK as they have only come to attention of fanciers about 100 years ago. I have seen them a bit at poultry shows, not very often mind you. They are a very flighty breed and a fellow fancier advised if I get any make sure they have an enclosed run otherwise you'll be finding the up trees.

| Thanks Adam.I have a few books on poultry and just remember them mentioning that Freisians are uncommon in the UK. |

| Good to hear that you like your poultry.If I had space I would have some hens and ducks.One of my colleagues at work has hens and also Miniature Silver Appleyard ducks. |
