| Beautyful boxer And a wonderful frog ! That gorilla baby needs a comb for his birthday And a cat on a horse It was fun with the terrier sitting on the rump of a pony, but it is never a good idea to tell the same joke twice Wonderful heavy horse, though |

Except the basking shark, nothing really interesting for a wildlife collector. The frog and the lobster will be too big for me.
Don't bite my head off for saying that but Schleich has had better releases for the last two years... I don't want to bite you of course but this is only a matter of taste. I am a wildlife collector (extant and extinct animals, "vintage" or "modern" models) and the last Schleich I bought was the female okapi ( it was the only model for 2019). No Schleich I want to collect in 2020 and nothing in 2021 too. Even if CollectA made less wildlife models in 2020 and 2021, there is still something good to catch like the Darwin's frog or the lobster ( and the xyphactinus of course ). I know you think they are too big for your collection but they are at least beautiful models and very brave choice. |

I only need one newcomer from CollectA and even for this one (frog), I will wait for comparison photos. But I have the feeling that most of us are very "spoiled" by the last 10 years where we got some unbelievable figures and species choices. In a time of a pandemie and that we invest in a toy (!) business, we can´t ignore that the collectors aren´t the only one purchasing new figures. When I look the "ideas for..." threads, something that bothers me, too, when days after the new releases someone opening this thread showing that there isn´t much "joy" or patience in our hobby, I always think: wonderful ideas! But who beside our small community will buy this? So I think it´s a mix that have to work and I think it still works very well for me. I think that a collector of dinosaurs or prehistoric animals would never say that the last years were "bad"... |

So I think it´s a mix that have to work and I think it still works very well for me. I think that a collector of dinosaurs or prehistoric animals would never say that the last years were "bad"... Well, I'm sorry if you feel I judged the brands and their choices, it wasn't my intention. I understand Brands are doing business and I wish them all to survive the actual crisis. I agree we are not the brands main target,we are just people with a weird hobby. I just give my two cents as a collector, even an "old collector" who have the chance to had in hands a lot of models from a lot of companies. Collecting, I think, is a love affair: The models we choose, the way we are thinking and building our collection is a love affair. It is very personnal and our tastes change over time, it is a very good thing I guess. I must say I don't read the "ideas for..." topics for a long time now. In the past STS had the great chance to be heard by a brand like CollectA (THANK YOU Nuuman ) and Mojo (THANK YOU Rogério ). We even had the great chance to give our two cents on some Mojo models (THANK YOU Crocbert ). I'm still very happy to help for the birth of Mojo Giant sable and Celebe's crested macaque , for the last one I really don't understand why Mojo made such a monkey . I won't even speak about Ana's work with Mojo It was brave choices from these companies and it was a great adventure for us. Was it a good strategy ? Well these brands are still alive When we opened STSforum, CollectA was a small outsider and Mojo didn't exists... I think both made very clever choices even if they maybe not selling as much as Schleich. On the other hand, I'm sad about Southlands Replicas because it is a fabulous brand and of course because The brand's owner and sculptor is a STS member. I wish this good time could come back again for brands and collectors. Indeed 2020 is a GREAT year for extinct wild animals collectors ! |

No, I didn´t meant you I registred only the disappointment that many users have, but still, there will be hopefully releases by Mojo and Papo. As a wildlife collector, I would wish every year new species, too. But the pandemic made me perhaps a bit to realistic and I recognizing more and more that everything is a business. What you told about the contribution of this forum is true and it´s exactly what I meant when I told that we were spoiled the last years. The Celebe's crested macaque, Saiga, Chiru, Hirola, Sumatran rhino, barbirusa, etc...who ever thought that we could such special species? I wish it would continue that way, but my wallet will be happy if we have now some years with less spectacular newcomers. Now, other collectors like dinosaurs or prehistoric animals have perhaps more joy. I don´t see a trend, I see just a normal processus in making toy animals. And still, we don´t have to forget the pandemie as an uncalculatable factor and I´m sure that Safari for example wanted more animals to reveal when they plannend their releases. |

There are many animals that could sit on a horse. Maybe next time it's a budgie sitting on a pony. Or a fish in a bowl. Or a sea horse on a sea cow |

| In my opinion, animals on horsebacks is a wonderful idea. I don't collect Collecta horses, but a guinea pig on a pony i would buy. |

| Nice newcomers and as I told, a wonderful time for prehistoric collectors. As pardofelis, such beautiful renditions make me want to start collecting them, too. But I´m not very sure about the different lines CollectA offers, as we have standard size (?), deluxe size 1:20 and deluxe size 1:40 |

| The two Deluxe models above are about 18cm in length.
Pepi, this is all for prehistoric life. It's the final part. There are some more for the other categories to be revealed soon. :) |
