PostSubject: Mediterranean highland forest on rocky ground   Mediterranean highland forest on rocky ground EmptyTue Nov 17, 2020 2:15 am

This is my modular diorama in Schleich scale. I used rocks I made and some sand for pet birds, grass plates, a few trees, dewberry bushes and a dog rose bush with some flowers and lot of hips. Then I added a jay, a falcon, a turtle, a rabbit, a family of deer and a few wild boars.

Thanks a lot, Christophe Very Happy . I told you I was going to make a diorama that was inspired by releasing roe deers into the Petit Luberon forest. Luberon wild boars made this roe deer recovery action very difficult for ecologists.
And about the turtle I disagree No . I think it is very beautiful and conspicuous cyclops

Thank you Bonnie. sunny sunny sunny I bought the trees at a Chinese shopping mall. But they did not accept cards Shocked , only cash. So, I bought only 6 trees, cut them, processed with a soldering iron, glued and painted - and made a small forest. I went later with cash to buy more, but they no longer had such trees. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
Originally, these trees are in the shape of bonsai, with a poor canopy shape and arrangement of branches. I had to change the length and shape of the tree and the number of branches. In contrast, the original leaves were already phenomenal bounce bounce bounce . If I ever find the same trees again, I will definitely photograph it before processing to see it in the original.

Thanks for the big compliments! sunny sunny sunny Also Thank you so much for seeing the Herman turtle cheers cheers cheers (some members even complained that the turtle can't be easily seen! cyclops )
Bonnie also asked about the trees so I gave her a detailed answer. I really have never found better trees to make forests in the scale of 1:20, 1:32 and 1:48.

The birds are both branded. The falcon is original, pet bird of Sheriff of Nottingham (BBC Robin Hood Action figures, 2008).
I did not change that figure. The other bird was originally Chap Mei, blue-red pet parrot of Dr. Harry Gage. I have several such birds, so I cut off the tail, crest and beak of this one. I made a new beak and tail and painted it to be a Eurasian jay.

I don’t have many other photos at the moment. But I think it might be convenient to add pictures of some more details

You can see the transformation of the parrot into a jay. Now everyone can see the turtle nicely, from both sides! Wink
