| Definitely not a baby pygmy hippo. Yeah, mountain tapirs are cool too! I also like Brazilian tapirs! They have an interesting crest going for the top of the head down to the neck. |

Great repaint, made me want to customise some tapir model into Brazilian tapir, my favourite tapir species. Thank you Manga - baltimore zoo wrote:

I'm sure either will look good after you get done repainting. I am going to repaint my Safari tapir. What zoo is the baby hippo from? I have too much models I still have to buy so I will not save money for a second SAFARI ltd tapir. This one will stay my modern Malayan tapir. So good luck with yours, I can't wait to see it. About the Papo tapir, I will try to do a PAPO Brazilian tapir not a Baird's. - ana wrote:
If I have choose to favorite specie of tapir it must be mountain tapir, they are extremely cute Look like black sofa which had drunken milk
, Ana, you are reading in my mind. I will try to find a WILD REPUBLIC tapir and paint him as a pinchaque tapir. My plan is : SAFARI ltd : Malayan tapir PAPO : Brazilian tapir SCHLEICH : Baird's tapir WILD REPUBLIC : Pinchaque tapir

| How are you going to make the Brazilian crest, mon amie? Perhaps making the Papo a Bairds will be easier and still look good! |

| @Christophe: Nice work with your Guzerá! Now my suggestion is to Kiki paint a Papo zebu like a Malayan tapir! Nice tapirs project! @Mangalarga: Do you love everything that is Brazilian??? @Ana: Thanks! In fact this is a zebu cattle also known as Kankrej, Guzerá is the Brazilian name. |

Haha, it's just a coincidence I didn't even think about the country, I never look and the country - when I like something, I just like it In Polish the Brazilian tapir ( Tapirus terrestris) is called "tapir anta" - I don't even know why _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| For more authenticity, you need to ad the dark spot on each jaw/cheek area. That will be the finishing touch! |

| Finally i got into this tread... What a great job you did my friend! I did saw this before, but i really don't know why i didn't say anything on this here... For your only second attempt it is really great, you are getting good at this, specially at a rare species lieke this! I am the only one that stays behind in sculpting and painting as it seems...

| Well, yes Rogerio, i do paint quit often as a matter of fact, because one of my best friends was a professional painter, who teached me the trade... But it seems that i am painting more in other houses, then in my own... Poor you Rogerio, not even painting things in your own house? So who is doing that then from time to time??? |
