| My collection has grown a little bit the last few weeks, with lots of brand new purchases. I have a few Playmobil in the collection as some of them fit in nicely to my scale. But most tend to be on the large side. Together they look very nice. I also put in the lego type bear that I got from China last month, he fits nicely with the polar bear cub. the ibex came with some edelweiss which had to be put together the penguin came with some tiny ice bergs and fish [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the polar bear cub came with a snowball and the squirrels had some cones to eat and a log to stand on [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]here is the lego type brown bear and the Playmobil cub they go together rather well [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the cub is getting a lesson in stretching up for honey [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and then the following week I added some more brand new models - a camel, sharing a meal of edelweiss with the cub [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]a llama that came with some spiky leaves [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]a very nice orangutan with bananas and a green tendril that I will turn into a snake [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and a wolf that came with a bone [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the bear is now sharing the honey and bananas with the wolf [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] the orangutan still has plenty to eat [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and I also got a nice assortment of 2nd hand friends - an albino lizard with beautiful red eyes, a Spirit horse that is 1/32nd scale and a very nice model, a large sheep which is very cute, a very pretty hollow cow that I've never seen before and a cheap but handsome rhino. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The albino lizard needs some glue to his chin area. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This cow is hollow inside, and is very beautiful. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I quite like the cheap type rhinos, they are around Britains size and fit in nicely with my other rhinos. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the Spirit horse is the best model I've seen in this range at this size [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Great new additions, Playmobil makes some cool animal figures these days! I really like the camel, and also the lizard. I'm glad you saved him to repair his break. |

Thank you Roger. ha ha, stretching is good for everyone, I agree :) - Jill wrote:

Thanks Jill, yes Playmobil has a great range of cool animals. The camel was in a desert fighting set that came with a skeleton warrior and a human. So the hieroglyphic patterns on it were part of the storyline. Yes, he's a great model and I will see how the glue goes. Nothing is unrepairable in this world. |

Nice batch and I'm glad to see one more time your Tri-ang Indian rhinoceros . Could you make a pic for TAW ? Thank you Christophe. Underneath the lizard it just says China. It's quite large as well, the body is the length of my hand. Have you seen cows like this before then? Yes I will take some pics for TAW. I think I have a growing list of items to be photographed:) - Taos wrote:

Thank you Taylor. Did Tonka not make trucks? I'd be interested to see more animals like this cow. |

| I got some Dinamização models, most came in monochrome pairs, and I decided to paint one of the oryx for the painting month this year. I only had one day left (yesterday) but I managed to paint it within 2 hours Normally I take a few hours to paint a model like this. But I am happy with the outcome! I think it looks very soft and beautiful. I will probably add a real oryx tail to her later on, as she came with a short stump, whereas real oryx have very long sleek elegant tails! Rather like a horse's tail but a little bit more beautiful (in my eyes:) And I may add some more black on her black areas. She has quite a full round belly so just like a real oryx - she is expecting a little one very soon. And her horns are particularly thin, though not very long, so that is more like a female oryx's horns as well. 99% of my collection is all packed up now, and I only have a box of figures waiting to be repainted that are left out. I look forward to the day when I get all my collection out on display in their own separate little dioramas and shadow box homes. my oryx - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the first undercoats [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and compared to the other white one [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and finished oryx enjoying the sun [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Beautiful repaint! The Dinamização models are excellent and when you repaint them, they get real life. |

| Oh, I can't find Dinamização orixes anymore, I'm glad you managed a way to find them. I truly enjoy seeing these models repainted, they are really good and a great painting like yours confirms it. |

thank you very much Roger, and yes they are excellent models. Certainly different from the 'finished' finish on the Britains - these ones seem to have an unfinished lumpy type appearance - Roger wrote:

Yes I managed to get a small bundle of them, and wasn't sure what they were at first. It's on my list to get a photo of them all - gorillas sitting, giraffes, tigers, tortoises etc - Kikimalou wrote:

| here are my handpainted Britains tigers in my new diorama Little cub is learning about life and that not everyone with stripes is a friend, even the ones who look like you. little white cub has become separated from mum [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and the resident tigers are on the prowl dinner time is nearing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the male searches the undergrowth looking for a surprise [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]luckily white mum notices her missing cub and hurries back to look for him [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]thankfully she spots him hiding in the undergrowth and tells him to keep quiet - she can smell the other tigers and this isn't her territory so they have to be very careful [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and that he should stay a little behind her, just in case, as it's good to patrol this way [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]..earlier that day some Equus Simplicidens came by, new to the area because of an earthquake, they were searching for an open glade [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]but it was a little bit too dense with foliage here and they knew that tigers liked this flora infact they could even smell tigers on the leaves [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]they didn't stay long, and quickly moved on to more open land which was much better suited for fast running [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the tiny tiger with blue eyes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I got a tiny lion cub a while ago and it seemed to be Britain's size. It is, except the head is slightly rounder and fuller. It has excellent paintwork and details on it. A comparison with the Jeol and Britains lionesses and Britains cubs [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the little cub is very playful [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and quite a pawful [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I also got a very old hollow lion he is about Britains size too [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]he fits in perfectly [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]they all go well together even the koala! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I came across this small koala and thought it looked the perfect size for my collection when I received it I was delighted! No idea who made it but I love it:) and this is a real koala pose - looking ahead inquisitively whilst on the ground, maybe even with a bit of trepidation to be out of her favourite and safe habitat amongst the branches of a eucalyptus. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I really like the smaller animals in the 1/32nd scale, especially the rabbits. This grey one is made in China or Singapore and is a Britain's copy. And I love the Kaiyodo Furuta Choco Q rabbits and hares! Stunning and evocative. They are the most beautiful and expertly sculpted and painted little lagomorph figurines. The rabbits are so small yet full of personality and life. These are my absolute favourite rabbit figurines along with a couple of the Britain's rabbits poses. The small white and brown hares are the Ikimon Nature of Satoyama Japanese hares in their winter and summer coats here they are in their grass tray [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
