| I think you will have to play with the suggestions already provided. You have to understand that giving names for plushes is probably not the most exciting task for many of us. I am sure you will get a good one from those. |

| Subject: Birdsage’s New Additions: SUPER RARE K&M Audubon Snowy Plover and California Condor Sun Oct 03, 2021 2:46 am | |
| New Additions (October 2, 2021) All of these items came in the same lot. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Both of these have working sounds, and both came with their tags; I removed them and put them into my collection (yes, I do have a separate collection for Audubon bird tags) K&M Audubon Snowy Plover (Coastal Birds series) (This has been a dream item of mine ever since I started collecting Audubon Birds. This item almost never appears on eBay. The only other time I’ve seen this plush was without a tag in a lot of over 100 birds that ended up going for over a thousand dollars at auction.) K&M Audubon California Condor (Limited Edition) (I did not immediately notice that the leatherette covering of the bill was peeling. I will fix this if possible) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]K&M Audubon Mallard (Water Birds Series) (The quacking call does not work on this. It came with the tag and a “Press Here!” sticker. As some of you may know, I already have one of these. I will sell this at my eBay store with the tag and sticker on. Keep an eye out for the item here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Oh, and I also received this Battat Human as a free mystery item, I do not have any interest in this, so I will be listing this on eBay too. And in case you’re wondering what I named the Webkinz Toco Toucan, I named her Tainá. If you’re still upset I didn’t name the bird Archibald or something like that, that’s a long story, so see here. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] In short, in the case of Webkinz, once a name is submitted, it cannot be changed. As John Alexander Smith and the Ropefish he described would say: no do-overs allowed!Next time I need you to suggest names, there will not be a vote. |

| Lovely new additions, especially the rarity! I can't believe one of the auctions went for over 1000 dollars, I never knew that these were so sought after! |

| I only have a name for your Battat human, I think Archibaldine is a great one. I like the fact those birds make sounds, they are educational toys. I had no idea they gained such a high collectability value. Is there a wiki or a website where we can find a comprehensive list of the exiting models? |

| Animalsnmore.com has a page with many of the birds, but some limited edition/promotional birds (the Rhinoceros Hornbill and Albatross), the Tropical, African, and Australian series, and some of the Backyard and RSPB birds are missing. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]There is a collector’s Instagram account that has photos of almost all birds except the very rarest 13. Just note a few taxonomic mistakes: the RSPB Goldcrest is described as synonymous with the North American Golden-crowned Kinglet, which it is not. Also, it appears you need to log in to see all photos, but all of the rarest ones are visible. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Thanks for providing these links. It is good to see there is a real word behind these singing birds. |

| New Additions (October 30, 2021): [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Items were bought on eBay individually. K&M Wild Republic Cuddlekins Ringtail (The seller incorrectly titled this as a Ring-tailed Lemur. I was the sole bidder in this auction, and I got a great deal at $5 USD.) K&M Wild Republic Audubon Water’s Edge Series Nelson’s Sparrow (This species was once considered conspecific with the Saltmarsh Sparrow as the Sharp-tailed Sparrow. For several years after the species was split in two, the resulting species were called Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow and Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow before assuming their current appellations. This plush was released in 2002, according to the tag, and was therefore marketed as Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow. The sound is still working, and the hang tag will be cut and stored with the other tags in my collection.) You may suggest names for both. Of course, “Nelson” is too obvious and is not allowed for the sparrow. And just to prove that Wild Republic is still officially called K&M International, here are the tags of the Cuddlekins Ringtail, a fairly recent release. | That ringtail was a lucky find. I wished one of the major brands, for example Safari, could introduce a ringtail in their range. I am afraid you won't get many suggestions for names after the Archibald gate. |

| I know. It’s one of the few prominent North American animals that Safari hasn’t covered. |

| Birdsage’s New Additions: November 7, 2021 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Bought on eBay from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: 7 Play Visions figures from the African Ungulates set. According to WhiteLightning, these ultimately came from a bulk lot of a particular store’s old stock. For the record, this is the entire set with the exception of the Giraffe. Knowing that these figures retailed individually, I would guess that the giraffes sold out while the less popular others remained unsold. With that being said, these 7 other (sub)species are: Zebra Duiker (This is on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]’s wishlist, but since WhiteLightning listed these individually in large numbers, NMR almost certainly obtained one, so don’t try to trade him one.) East African Oryx (marked Beisa Oryx, likely the subspecies beisa) Sable Antelope (subspecies indeterminate) Bongo (subspecies indeterminate) Greater Kudu Cape Buffalo (subspecies caffer of the African Buffalo. PV also made subspecies nanus, the Forest Buffalo, one of several poorly-understood African animal figures that may be exclusive to Nat. Geo. box sets) Okapi (This figure was also released in a Rainforest set) Keep an eye out for my next update, when Christmas comes early for me too! Can you guess what RARE figures I managed to get my hands on? I ordered this custom lot from a Canadian seller around Halloween, but it isn’t even in transit yet. You’ll just have to see when it comes! |

| A lovely selection, I really like these smaller scale models with their slightly simplified sculpt and paintwork, they look stylish and sleek somehow, but keep reasonably accurate and distinctive as each species. |

| Subject: Birdsage’s New Additions: Custom eBay Lot of SUPER RARE PV AND K&M Thu Nov 11, 2021 2:01 am | |
| Birdsage’s New Additions: November 10, 2021: This custom lot of 15 rare PV and K&M figures was ordered on eBay from the Canadian seller phvision. Christmas has definitely come earlier than I would’ve expected. The order status on eBay is still “tracking number provided”, but the item arrived a week earlier than the expected date of November 17. With that said, here are the species of the much-wanted figures: PV: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Arctic: Hooded Seal and Muskox (Muskox is missing one horn) Yellowstone National Park: American Bison and Osprey (subspecies are Plains Bison bison and North American Osprey carolinensis respectively) Parrots and Cockatoos: Blue-headed Parrot and Black-headed Parrot (the latter is marked “Black-headed Caique”, a pet trade name not in general ornithological use) Crocodiles & Alligators/Chitwan National Park???: False Gharial (This is the most perplexing figure in this lot. The seller said that this came from an “Indian National Park” set. The figure appears to be the light variant of the False Gharial from the 1996 Crocodilians set, complete with the year 1996, but it is marked “Gharial” instead of “False Gharial”. The Gharial from the Wing Mau catalog photo of the 1999 Chitwan set is noticeably different in shape and color and has yet to be discovered by collectors. That raises many questions. Why would the seller describe this as coming from what I assume is the Chitwan set? If the photos show an unreleased figure and this was the real Chitwan Gharial, then why would they change the species but not the year, knowing that the only difference between the original Monkeys & Apes langur and the rereleased Chitwan langur is the year? If the seller was wrong, then why would there be a sub-variant of the light variant of the False Gharial without the “false”? I would like to see photos of the light variant of the figure with the “false”.) Tropical Frogs: Ecuador Poison Frog and Red-banded (Lehmann’s) Poison Frog (These are the 1998 editions, so they look different from those that some other collectors have. See photo below) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]K&M: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Asian Animals Bulk: Asiatic Ibex (marked just “Ibex”) North American Bulk: Bighorn Sheep, Elk, Grizzly Bear, Cougar (Bighorn Sheep has quite a bit of paint loss) Endangered Animals Bulk: Ring-tailed Lemur |
