| Incredible that they can make such accurate, small models There must be heaps of fantastic artist out there PS, what is the animal on the lowest shelf ? A kind of sea cow or ???? |

| Having had time to manage my initial excitement, digest, send the images to my mailing list, and look at the figures more closely...
I imagine the dino set might garner some criticism for repeating common subjects but I'm guessing the thought and potential reality is that the sales of those are what allows for slightly more esoteric sets like the very awesome other one.
And the two feathered guys somehow remind me stylistically of the small PNSO's.
As for the non-dinos, I first didn't notice that the sea cow has a water element like some of the company's Enoshima Aquarium figures, only it appears as though with this one you might look through it rather than have it as a background.
Can anyone tell what the bits above the animals are? It almost looks as though he's breaking the surface and those are birds. That rather aligns with the height of the water element.
I've long (looong) advocated for more and better renditions of prehistoric mammals. And the megatherium, though the original is nice enough, is stunning.
And I guess Kaiyodo finally got around to competing with UHA Collect Club's gorgeous platybelodon.
After such an extremely long dry spell (I only collect Kaiyodo and more recently NTC's...), 2022 should be a good year for me.
Again, taking orders now (Please PM if not on my mailing list.) and already alerted my new figure guy that I expect interest to be great so that he orders extra sets from his wholesaler.
Brett

| WOOOOOOOAHHHHH!!! It will be the first figure ever of the famous extinct PALLAS'S CORMORANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Steller's sea cow is a nice idea too as none of the models of it available today are very well done. But I fear it will be very small. I would like to see how it will be compared the Pallas's cormorant with the Papo cormorant! If both are compatible sizewise I may add this Kaiyodo one to my wishlist :) _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| Great I would love to catch the extinct animals set Brett, I don't think there is a Smilodon in this set but more a Thylacosmilus or something like that. |

| I meant the thing that reminds me of a big toothy cat...
Now I'm disappointed it's not one though...
And clearly I stopped studying these things long (long...) ago.
Thanks for the clarification...

| I only say that because it would be the first serious Thylacosmilus ever |

But I am sure that this one will be so much nicer! _________________ Always looking for new species

| Thanks for all of these news! I like the cormorant and once more a prehistoric proboscidian that is not a mammoth.. there aren't many platybelodons around. |

| Hey Dirk.
I e-mailed you but I'll ask here as well since I imagine there will be members here who are not on my mailing list who will want to know...
Do we know if these are going to be painted?
And do we know if they are exclusive to a zoo or zoos or widely released?
Thanks very much for these posts, as usual. Brett |

Thanks very much for these posts, as usual. Brett The zoo is a Kaiyodo new series, ARTPLA, 1/35 scale. It's no painted, like Bandai assembly model. I didn't see the name of the zoo on the leaflet, so it means widely. |

| Finally, Kaiyodo makes a set close to my favourite 1/32 scale and then they make them green . It's an interesting choice to decide not to paint them. |
