| I don't believe at all that the plastic in front of the sea cow is supposed to represent glass but rather give the appearance that the viewer is seeing the animal through the water. I imagine you likely realize this and just worded it that way because it gives that sort of impression and you don't like that, but I wanted to speak for the ingenuity of it. I think it would have been just as beautiful without it, but it's kind of nifty with it as well. Hopefully when you receive the figure if you are buying it there'll be a way to not include that piece that doesn't detract. |

| Brett... I asked you for the whole set, nothing less I will welcome the Steller's sea cow despite I would love it better without this "no aquarium glass". |

| Yes, it would definitely display better without the water/glass piece blocking the face, it's not as if we need a visual hint that it's a sea creature - even if you'd never heard of one before it's obvious from the shape, and the fact it's floating in mid air The unpainted figures would have looked nicer in a more subtle colour, I think, that green is a bit acidic and distracting I'd have gone for a deep cream or even warm brownish black if they like the idea of a smooth monotone plastic as an artistic choice rather than the usual realism of painted colours. |

| I'm colorblind and didn't know they were green... Odd...
But, really I'm posting to say that I'll be looking for someone to paint the four animals. As I have no idea how much this might cost or if I can afford it, I'd be especially interested in trading the job for discounts on or free Japanese figures, especially (the best deal by far for the painter if interested) Dinotales, as I have so many in my inventory I'd offer more of those than anything else.
If interested, or if you know or recommend someone, please PM.
Thanks. Brett |

| Yes, they're about as green as it's possible to get, a dazzling bright neon shade (if you can see yellows and oranges normally, imagine a green to rival those hi-viz safety vests!) |

| Gosh.
That's even more strange.
Kaiyodo is an extraordinary company. It's always disproportionately disappointing when it takes what we collectors think of as a misstep. Or, more likely recently, no steps as we wait...
But can't help but be very excited by this July... |

| Dirk indicated above that this will be a continuing series with a wide release--not limited to a particular zoo or zoos.
I can get the set and anything else from Japan if you're looking for a source.
I have 25 pre-orders for the Kaiyodo dino set and over 30 for the prehistoric mammal set. Interest in this set will be limited due to the figures not being painted.

| In addition to no painting, the zoo series has to be assembled by yourself. The assembled model is a very popular type of model in Japan. I think players who play military models will be familiar with these models, just like the picture below. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| They look so much nicer in that neutral grey plastic. I also really like the giraffe he's holding, the way the head's tilted makes it look curious and friendly, like it's looking down at a calf, or a keeper with food. |

Good observation. Maybe one of the other figures in that set will be a baby giraffe... Would make a beautiful pairing. |
