| This model is really something I wanted to add in my collection. I wasn't sure if I would buy it because I already own the Safari Ltd which I really like. I'm running out of space and I couldn't make a choice, love affairs are often complicated. Thanks to you, almost all reluctance has disappeared (except money of course ), the Safari Ltd is on my 1/60 shelf and I will find a good place for the PNSO on 1/30 shelves. |

Sorry for my late answer, I was awaiting for my in-depht review of the Deinocheirus for Paleo-Nerd to come out. Binomial name: "Tiantaiosaurus sifengensis/Tiantaisaurus sifengensis" (nomen nudum) Classification: Dinosauria->Theropoda->Neotheropoda->Averostra->Tetanurae->Coelurosauria->Tyrannoraptora->Maniraptoromorpha->Neocoelurosauria->Maniraptoriformes->Maniraptora->Therizinosauria->Therizinosauroidea->? Time: Albian/Cenomanian (early - late Cretaceous) Formation: Laijia Formation (present day China) Manifacturer and date of release: Vitae, 2020 Sculptor: Cheung Chung Tat Scale: ? I was unable to obtain measurements [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The lack of informations about this animal is frustrating, but anyway this is one of the best Therizinosauridae available, even considering it a generic therizinosaurid. I think the sculpture was modelled after Alxasaurus? I had to get both colour variants, of course. They're both equally amazing! _________________ "Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. | One model I treated myself for my birthday, some months ago. Never tought I'd own one of those, still awesome after almost 30 years. Binomial name: Styracosaurus albertensis Lambe 1913 Classification: Dinosauria->Ornithischia->Genasauria->Neornithischia->Marginocephalia->Ceratopsia->Neoceratopsia->Coronosauria->Ceratopsoidea->Ceratopsidae->Centrosaurinae Time: Campanian (Late Cretaceous) Formation: Upper Dinosaur Park Formation (present day Canada) Manifacturer and date of release: Battat, 1994 Sculptor: Greg Wenzel Scale: 1:31 based on AMNH 5372, on which the model is based on. | Still a very beautiful piece, you're right. If it works for 1:31, I'm sure it will work for 1:32 too. |

It seems so, even if recently other species are claiming for the "second most famous ceratopsian species" throne (after Triceratops, of course), such as Pachyrhinosaurus - Roger wrote:

Yes, it's so elegant! Happy (late) Christmas to all! Yes it's somewhat cute - Kikimalou wrote:
Styracosaurus is my favourite dinosaur ever since I won a tiny one at a fair in the late 60s. I love the Battat because it reminds me of one of my favorite Paleo artists Doug Henderson. Mine lives among my wildlife at 1/35, it leaves the 1/30 savannah for the Kinto Favorite Do you know that apparently Doug Henderson (which is among my favorite paleoartists too) apparently has at least one painting inspired by Battat or vice versa (a bit hard to pin chronologies)? Look at the colour of this Triceratops [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I don't know the history of this painting, but it might have been commissioned by the same Boston Museum (I'm pretty sure it features at least another Henderson artwork) which commissioned Battats and has a beautiful mural by Larry Felder (another great paleoartist) depicting a dinosaur family tree in which you can recognize the Battat models colours! | Safari is just releasing a utahraptor, I don't know if these are supposed to be represented with patagia in the future. I don't know how such a large creature could give a good use to them. |

It's 69 cm long... which may sound like a lot until you realize many of those centimeters are neck and (mostly) tail. _________________ "Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. | Welcome back to the collecting hobby and your return with two wonderful models. Even if the last one is just neck and tail, 69 cm is quite impressive. |
