Okay, I see! I understand that all too well, with at least 19 unpainted resin horses on my shelves! And a couple of unpainted resin animals of different kinds.
Stories like that inspired the Namopaimo event in the model horse hobby: way too many unpainted models, never the right time for painting

I was thinking, what if our forum could create a special event dedicated to painting models? (in a form of a new topic in the custom models section?). If we choose one month when everyone who wants that commits to painting one model during that month. So at the beginning of the month, we show photos of our unpainted victims and at the end of the month the ready results. I could even think of sending small gifts to everyone who finishes, like stickers or/and postcards And we could have a digital collage of all finished work at the end? It would not be a competition but just a friendly challenge to commit to and finish a project (that would otherwise probably be waiting in the box/shelf for a long time). Basically a small Namopaimo (national model painting month) for this forum.

yes, I'd definitely join too! I greatly enjoy Namopaimo but that is an all equine event, while I enjoy painting so many other species too. It would be very fun if we could have a little event here at STS with more freedom regarding animal species. I was just thinking about it the other day that it would be fun maybe to do some customize/sculpting and repaint challenges with STS friends since I feel like the custom topics have been very active lately

I do realize that that might have been a bit off topic, so I also want to add that those are some great additions Kiki Especially the old composition models just have some much character, but realism as well. Just look at that wonderful 'lost in thoughts' Pech Hyena

It is time again to point out before your horrified eyes the sinister plotters who tried in April to thwart my plans to downsize ... They took every opportunity to use my weaknesses to invade my already too full displays.
Some of these little devils come to me from my good friends at STS (who could resist?). Others, long desired, have finally appeared in my nets.
There is also a whole bunch of critters that have weighed on one of my greatest qualities since I have been collecting: Curiosity, the need to discover ...
Finally I fell in love again with two wonderful little creatures born in Canada.

From Shawn, an AAA "meerkat" whom I have been considering hiring for a long time as a very nice Striped Mongoose.

Then a gift from Sandor, a New ray Black rhino… Yes I still have a bias for rhinos, especially Indian ones but I’m a weak macaque.

From Anna, I couldn’t resist to the Safari Ltd Authentics Giant anteater and a small cassowary… Did I tell you I have a bias for the two species ?

From Ricardo, a bunch of Pech. I like to explore new continents like Spanish vintage juguetes. I would be so happy if STS Spanish members would complete Spanish brands pages on TAW.

One sought after, an old LR lioness. This french brand is supposed to have produced an Aluminium Big animals series. Despite a bit used, I love the ones I have, their touch’ and I still hope to add more of theses on my vintage shelves.

Now some unpainted animals from Italy. Once again it would be great if some Italian friends could enlighten us on the Italian brands of yesteryear. Here are some Dulcop

These two, I found them on eBay.it. They are both plastic. I don't know their brand, but the orangutan is clearly a copy of the Hausser-Elastolin .. Italian or German? Who knows…

Two more curiosities, in composition, an elephant and a rhinoceros (have I already told you my affection for rhinos?) I do not know the brand.

And now a little plastic tiger "made in France" with little black socks. This little thing caught my eye because I have had a little panther with the same socks for years. I don't know the brand but their little vinatge look makes my heart set on.

Finally, two little wonders lovingly made in Canada by Qingyu Li (Beauty of the Beasts). I already owned the Caracal and the Ethiopian Wolf ... I just added the bush dog and the Chinese desert cat to my tribe. Walkarounds will follow.

The Authentics anteater looks good for its size.

I didn't realize Beauty of the Beast released a bushdog. I may have to look into that as well!

So many treasures. I think we always dont know enough of these old brands. There are so many figures that we have never seen here before.

Also the figures of Qingyu Li are really really good. To sad for me- it is not PVC.

Oh, I love the vintage models, they are all so beautiful and unique! That unpainted zebra is so graceful.

You always find the most amazing and unusual vintage animals for your collection, so many I have never seen before!
I love the AAA meerkat, very sweet- this brand always surprises me with new animals, they have so many I have never seen before and this one is fantastic!
And the Beauty of the Beast models really stood out, they are absolutely stunning and I can't wait to see your walkarounds! And I'd love to see your Ethiopian Wolf too one day, if you have a photo- I have just made on as a commission from Adam and it would be so useful to see someone else's sculpture!
The Bush Dog is wonderful too, we definitely need more models of this species in our hobby!

@Blaine: Even if I don't want to collect every Giant anteater figs, I couldn't resist to this one. I am so happy Qingyu Li decided to produce a canine line. I hunted zoos a long time to make some good pics of the shy bush dogs, this species became important to me, so I jump on BoB one. I will make a walkaround very soon.

@Andreas: I know you rappetite for unknown brand and never seen models is bigger than mine so I always have a thought for you when I unearth a rarity or a mysterious unknown.

@Alain: BoB animals are very very addictive, I hope you will catch the plague too    The two small big cats with socks are indeed a mystery, even on SP1/32.

The misterious tiger has clearly a French style, reminscent of Clairet, I guess, but obviously I have no idea what it is.

To tell the truth, I had the Spanish fever before I met Ricardo, I even bougt a book about Spanish plastic animal toys. Andreas gave me the chance to discuss with Ricardo about a very nice Hornbill Our new friend help me to catch some of my Spanish models, he is a very good medecine man

About the tiger and leopard, it is a mystery even for French vintage toys collectors. The plastic is very recognizable and so is the style. I hope I will catch more sock fauna in the future

Seeing beautiful models like these makes it very tempting to take that direction with collecting, but I know too little still. I wouldn't know what I was looking at, much less looking for. Someday!
