| Thank you Taylor and Alain!
Can you clarify which model you mean Alain? I think you are referring to the PV Linsang?... _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Red squirrels! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]These guys can swim! They can't interbreed with grey squirrels. And only 1 out of 6 will meet their first birthday due to predation, starvation, disease, etc. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | You are both very welcome! And a bonus... my sadly forgotten ringtailed lemurs! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Every lemur has 13 black and white bands. They use a certain species of millipede that contain toxins to self medicate; to get a "high" and kill intestinal parasites. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Thank you both! Back to the normal scheduling... red foxes! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There are 45 recognized subspecies because these are currently the widest spread wild canid! They are found on every continent except South America or Antarctica. They are known as one of the most adaptable mammals as they have invaded cities and urban areas and have been known to utilize man's transit system also. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | If I remember correctly that is a TM fox. Thank you both! Next up are wild boar! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]These guys can smell an edible root or tuber up to 10 inches/25 centimeters underground! A family group is called a "sounder". They are native to Africa, Asia, and Europe but have been introduced elsewhere. Because of their short legs and consequent difficulty in deep snow, this is believed to be one of the only reasons this species hasn't become even more invasive in northern climes. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | The Nayab Wild boar is in fact a Giant Forest hog even though it is marketed as a Wild boar.I have the book that they used to produce this model and its definitely a Giant Forest hog. |

| It's great to see the comparisons of all the different species. It's a while back that you showed it, but now I finally understand why my K&M wolf is so red: It's a red wolf |

| Surely I love the Arctic Foxes family portrait but I am so much curious about the squirrels. Where did you read about red squirrels interbreeding with grey squirrels? I'm only aware of grey squirrels interbreeding with fox squirrels. The Eurasian red squirrel belongs to the same genus but at least in Europe they do not interbreed and introduced populations of grey squirrel are contributing to the decline of the red squirrel. I know in America there is the American red squirrel but that one is not a close relative. Taylor is right about the Nayab hog, I was debating it myself for a long time but it is a Forest hog as Taylor demonstrated. Ah, I see Christophe gaining a renovated interest for Bullyland figures. That's so cool. |
