| Alright, let's talk about this new kiwi. Another hit from Papo if you ask me. The bird is beautifully sculpted and painted. It has an alert stance with a great expression on its face and again with a base. It stands just fine, but not as steady as the muscovy duck I think. Because the feet of the bird are sculpted on the back edge of the base to counter the rest of the weight of the bird, it feels like it's easier to topple this figure over. But it will not. Don't worry. It just feels that way. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Some close ups: The sculpted feathers are excellent. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Next to CollectA's kiwi you can see the different approach when it comes to sculpting and painting this bird. | Thanks for one more beautiful presentation. I like the kiwi, head, feathers and legs. These animals look unbalanced in real. I wished Papo had specified a species just as CollectA did. Having myself the CollectA, probably I don't think I need another kiwi but, if I were sure this was a different species, it would be a high priority for me. We don't have many kiwi figures and I love these birds so I might not resist. |
