Dearc sgiathanach (jark ski-an-ach) - One of the largest pterosaurs of the Jurassic with a wingspan of over 2.5 metres.  This flying reptile probably fed on fish.  It was named and scientifically described in 2022, from a single, nearly complete fossil specimen found on the Scottish island the Isle of Skye.  Dearc had acute vision, the bright colours chosen for the tail and for the top of the head suggests that visual cues helped this animal communicate with others of its kind.  The blue markings on the tail rudder, the bright yellow patch on the top of the head and the white circle around the eye reflect the colours and symbols found on the official flag of the Isle of Skye.

This year, our group of Lusitanos is enlarged by a mare in Buttermilk Buckskin colourway. Painting details are the dark coloured lower legs, tail and mane so as nose and mouth.

The matching counterpart, a Lusitano stallion comes in Sooty Palomino colour. This is a very rare colour and it has the effect that the general fur colour is darkened in partial segments. Besides those darker areas in combination with the beautiful Palomino golden shade, the CollectA horse shows an underlying dapple-grey.

Common Cuttlefish. It is one of the largest and best-known cuttlefish species. Their mantles (excluding head and arms) can reach upwards of 45 cm. Nicely detailed are the highly developed eyes so as arms and tentacles with suckers.

The Highland is a traditional cattle breed of western Scotland and it enlarges the farm line. Highland cattle is a hardy breed that can withstand very low temperatures. The CollectA model shows a bull with the typical long horns and the long shaggy coat.

a Lady Tournament Rider and a Lady Hobby Rider. Both figurines have a movable head, arms, bendable hips and legs in order to make them ride a horse or to stand up straight to work with the horse.

This one certainly looks good! Especially the Musk-Ox and Bison.

This toob is definitely a better release than those of past years! At least we've got something decent.

A solid start but nothing really for me right now (though the dinosaur looks kind of cool).

I'm not a fan of the riders. One of the reasons I always liked CollectA was that they didn't do it like Schleich with their rider world. It just doesn't fit into their rather realistic line but I can understand why they decided to get on this path.

Both horses look nicely painted and it's nice to see that I guessed correctly with the Lusitano stallion (just the wrong coat colour). As I don't collect their deluxe figures the mare won't join my collection. The stallion doesn't look too much like a sooty to me (just a little bit too light for my taste) but I like how they have coloured him overall. Especially his mane and tail look nice. Maybe he will join my collection at some point.

The bull looks nice but I would have loved to see a black Highlander. Hopefully there will be also a new calf in the further reveals.

Would have preferred the Highland in another colour like dun/cream or black as was suggested.

The tube is okay but not sure I will get it as have the normal sized models.

Don’t worry there will be more. CollectA always shows their new releases in batches every Friday in November. So we will see more next week.

Cuttlefish and the Dearc sgiathanach are nice. The horses no, they look ugly. I hope for more prehistoric next week. Prionosuchus, Mastodonsaurus or a similar creature will be wonderful.

The Lusitano stallion looks awesome! But I would want to see more in-hand photos of him before making any judgements. But those riders....please Collecta, just no. They look like those cheap Bruder riders. Honestly, even Schleich riders look better tbh. I mean, I get the point, but why?

Nothing for me yet, but it totally slipped my mind that CollectA would be showcasing models already! I am excited to see where this goes, and crossing my fingers for some new species!

Hey guys, I think I'll be getting the new CollectA highland bull, because that's a breed of cow I collect. Also, Vasilis, thank you for providing those numbers. I've already taken notes in my collectors reference guide and my new searchlist about these. I think the cuttlefish will also be coming in to my collection too. I wonder what'll be coming for new figures next week? Oh well, we'll find out soon enough.

Thanks for sharing these pictures and informations. As a Portuguese collector, it is always a joy whenever a Lusitano is released.
I like the pterosaur and the cuttlefish but none of them is something I collect these days.
That Barbie rider is probably a Breyer request. Nobody will ride my CollectA horses.
That tube will be interesting for Roger, I guess. I bet a few of them are in 1:32 scale.
