| 21 years after the creation of its first Nine-banded Armadillo and 19 years after it was withdrawn from the catalogue, Schleich has finally produced a successor. The Schleich 14314 is an icon of the Schleich style of the 2000s, the golden age of the German brand. For me, Schleich has won the challenge with the 14874, the little newcomer is very well designed, the inevitable cute side doesn't detract from the realism and the pose is very fluid. The scale of our armadillo varies from 1/6 to 1/9.4 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The details are well sculpted without being too ostentatious, and any chaotic lines in the photos are not visible to the naked eye. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Naturally, I couldn't fail to organise a meeting between the newcomer and his ancestor. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Nor could I resist the temptation to introduce him to good old Grandad Lineol. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The family reunion, Lineol (aged 64 to 84), Schleich 14314 (aged 19 to 21) and the newborn baby [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Somewhere in Florida [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Somewhere in French Guiana [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| This walk around could only be presented by you. You also love armadillos just like me, and what a joy it is to see Schleich bringing this creature to life again. I've always been a fan of the old model, and maybe I still prefer it over this one, but I'm really eager to get my hands on this figure as well. Your photos showcase the level of detail in an impressive way and also reveal the beautiful pose that the figure has, which isn't apparent in the official pictures. I also have the good old Lineol friend, and they match perfectly. |

| Thank you, Kiki for the photos, this one is the figure I am on doubt if buy or not. Maybe I like the previous version better. The new one has more detailed head but the pink makeup around the eyes bothers me as well as the unnaturally (?) dog-like raised tail... |

I agree for the tail, but for the rest, the proportions of the body, legs and head are much better on the latest model. |

| Thank you for this wonderful walkaround Kikimalou! Typically I favor the older Schleich models, but this one is really great too! Also wow I didn't realize the original Schleich was 21 years old! Same age as me I actually think the details and feet are better on the new one, although I don't really like the pink shading on the face, it looks like it has a cold I will happily pick this up when I see it in stores! _________________ Jolie

| Beautiful photos as always Christophe! Indeed, the nine-banded armadillo is very well done. It truly is a glimmer of hope, remembering the golden age of the old sloth, which was 25 years ago. With this new figure, Schleich is recalling the old glory years. It would be an enrichment for the collectors' world if Schleich continued to produce models of the same quality as those from the golden age. _________________ Yvette
