| Nice Andreas! I think I'm collecting Britains! I've received a nice amount from Martien and fall in love with these figures, there is something Magic in them, I cannot explain! For example, my Indian rhino, even with the horn broken looks absolutly fantastic! I love the way they sculpted the foulded parts, proportions, the way back drops, the heavy body, etc! In my opinion it is much better than the Schleich, sorry, it's only my opinion! ...and the giraffe??? It looks like a real adult with fantastic legs... and the large hippo... Sorry, but there's something special with Britains even almost unpainted! |

| With an updated paint job the Okapi could really look even better(If you have an extra one to repaint)! |

| I truly agree with you Roger, Britains are better than Schleich. More detailed and realistic looking. My favorites have always been their male African elephant, hippo(head down/walking position), Indian rhino, African black rhino, Indian elephant(2nd version, although 1st version is still nice), crouching gorilla, lioness, giraffe (moveable neck) and baboon(standing)! Plus I like how they made the female kangaroo with the baby that can come out of the pouch, I mean how cool is that! Also like the keepers, especially the one with the piece of meat! Green metal railing/cages, awesome! Plus, because of the figures being in "relative proportion" the collection looks terrific when displayed all together!

| Congrats Andreas! Britains was my first love in collecting animals from a known brand... I go back to the 1970's then, and i even had much more copies of them before i had the real thing! My first one was the walking African elephant, which did cost my father 5,05 gulders that time, i remember very well, and that only for one animal! That does say something about the quality of those nice sculpted 1:32 animals i think! I think, i still miss 4 or 5 of them, i mean in all variations. I still miss the deetail attacking African elephant bull, the old vintage Asian elephant, the vintage red deer(with antlers!), the black panther and an early version of the Malayan tapir, which seems to have another snout, but i never saw him before in real, so i can't judge... The later deetail saberantelope was even better than the first vintage one! You can very easily see which models are better in the vintage or deetail series, because the ones that were never changed, had no newer models, so no deetail models indeed... Like some of you said, the first walking African elephant stayed, the grazing hippo and Indian rhino to, they are real classics in animal model collecting! _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Wow, that is a very dark coloured male lion of the later deetail series Andreas! Mine are a lot lighter in colouration. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| No, of course not! And how many copies of the first model i have... In different sizes and colours, and even with different paws, because the model with the right paw up, doesn't stand very well sometimes... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| The croc is one of the set of 2 baby crocs, unless it has a hole in its stumach, then it is from the miniset as an adult croc... The goat is from the last deetails series, but it is still made right now by Ertl Britains, same mould, but there is China written under it to. This is the 1030 Britains vintage miniset. Here as baby croc from the 1327 dual set, here are 2 variations. This is the other model of the 1327 dual set. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
