| The Alpaca are ok but having had a Llama in the past and an Alpaca now I dont know why we are not getting the truly wild animals Vicuna or Guanaco. Alpaca and Llama's are domesticated forms of these animals and Alpaca's would tend to be in farms. Elephants are all similar to before but at least they are better than what we currently have. Hedgehog looks terrible. Of all the new animals in the world Schleich give us a wite bellied Hedgehog? As if we dont have an already similar looking Hedgehog family already so what on earth was the point? I find this to be one of the strangest choices ever. I am also not in favour of the model being stuck next to a plant. It makes the model too specific. I like animals that are made standalone without any trees or plants or things in their mouths. I like them to be individual and free so one can display them how you want. The chicks and snow owl are really impressive and the highlight for me this year - stork, pergrine are again just remakes from years gone past. When I met the Schleich sales people at the Jan toy fair in London the rep said to me that the two most requested groups of animals are antelopes (no.2) and Monkey (no.1). Kids love monkeys and we as adults want different monkey species - even knowing this and receiving so many requests we still dont get any! I think that is ridiculous. Schleich told me directly themselves that monkeys were the most requests wild animals so I had hope to at least see some in 2013. I dont think the gorilla makes up for monkeys..... oh well, I am not sure what is happening at Schleichs headquarters. I would however say that for those of you not satisfied with the number of new animals there is also hope with the figter range of models - we may also get some new animals here similar to the black panther and porcupine we got in years past. Fingers crossed. |

| I do not collect farm models but I have to say the new sheep look absolutely beautiful. Especially the adult mother. I think it is really realistc and stunning and I may purchase just the sheep on its own as I really love it. |

| For me these eaglets in a nest are the most thrilling Schleich novelty. For two reasons: 1. It's a new fresh item in the animal figures world. 2. Such nest would look cool in a shelf display or diorama. Am I not alone thinking that we all have been missing real birds from Schleich? And it finally happened! - Schleichzoo wrote:

I was thinking about it too. Let's hope that those survey data came to Schleich HQ not too long ago and some monkeys are already in their production plans. _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog

| 2012 is a wonderful year for scheich, especially with all the remakes and the birds. I just hope that like this being a "Bird Year" that 2013 will be a "Reptile Year". All I have to do now is put away around $60 and wait until february. |

| I think there will be 4 sets, children book and a model in each set. If I saw well, there will be black leopard cub, Falabella mare with new painting, polar bear cub and little fox. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |
