I hope that document exists in English too. It looks like it's saying something about all of the models but my German is very, very limited so I can't understand anything except the names of the horse breeds

The Schleich 2012 PDF documents farm life and wildlife. All for Jan Releases, I assume there will be more coming out later in May ie Forest life animals? Anyone have any news on this.

So we have 20 new wildlife models coming out. Overall nothing exciting although I do like the Snow Owl, Skunk and eagle chicks. The Elephants look nice but replacing all of them has taken away the emphasis on making new animals which is a shame.

The Polar bears are absolutely terrible, we already had gorillas and the white bellied hedgehog is an absolute mystery to me considering we have a hedgehog family already - the animals are just too similar and the plant attached to it makes it look ugly. A very obscure choice....

The showy owl, and the falcon, and the baby eagles- it seems there are some figurines in Schleich 2012 that are a must have to me))
And the book with Falabella- hope it would be available somewhere in Finland so that I could get it:))

Yes, you understand it correct!

Maybe same size as replicasaurus 1:40? Although i think a smaller line will be introduced, but then again they retired mot of their sammler line!

Well, seeing the latest news, i can only say that i am mainly still disappointed in the new Schleich models!
I like the birds, and the choice for the eagle chicks on the nest is original, i think they were ment for the latest bold eagle.
The peregrin falcon is ok, and not a remake, as Schleich never made raptors with open wings, but for that Bullyland did very much.
The snowy owl looks quit good on paper...
Alpaca's are nice, but like Schleichzoo already said before, why not guanaco's or vicunjas actually, and not the domesticated versions on the guanaco?
But ok, they are in the farm-series indeed.
The elphants are better then before, but why not in the same scale as the white elephant, because that looked quit good in compare with the animal-keeper.
The legs look very short again, and some parts of these models, or the complete models look very much like the models before.
The gorilla male looks more or less ok, the female and young gorilla, are just so so...
The skunk is ok to, and i have my doubts about the white bellied hedgehog, but i understand the choice, as it is a very populair pet these days...(only without the plant of course).
I think i like the white stork...
The rest are farm animals and horses, which i don't collect anymore for the main part, so they don't botter me at all...

Willy, there's nothing original in Schleich birds! It is clearly an atempt of fighting the successful line of birds from Bullyland. Snowy owl and peregrine falcon are already in Bullyland series and Bullyland made, if I'm not wrong, many birds in nests, including owls and so. The bullyland falcon is with open wings and without a basis.
The previous falcon from Schleich was not in fact with open wings but Schleich descontinued recently a bald eagle with open wings and replaced it for the new one also with open wings!
It's a clear sign of the way Schleich is going, they know toyish figures sells better and the home market is always the most important. Fortunately we have Mojo, CollectA, Papo and Safari bidding more in realistic animals and not in toyish figures! :)

Market trend may change their direction & the way they used to think!! Look at the new African Buffalo & Kudu this year. Personally I find that is more realistic compared to before. For the bird series only the baby eagles appearing to me. Maybe Schleich want to balance or something in-between!

I don't know young birds in nests Rogerio, name me some(besides from Bullyland old white storks)...
Schleich is copying indeed now, and on a bad way to, but i guess they will feel the heat of the new brands!

Geharo as an eagle with chik in a nest! You can find it in your collection! About Bullyland I cannot find it, of course, maybe I was thinking in the storks since Schleich is also launching a stork!
Why Schleich choices are a snowy owl that we have in Bullyland and Safari and a peregrine falcon that we have in Bullyland and CollectA? Well, I cannot complain, fortunately there are much more to collect than Schleich and Mojo Fun and CollectA are giving us really nice figures!

When will schleich come out with their 2012 catalog?

They will probably release it on the web about early January, I'm not sure when it will be available in hard copy.

The elephants look good but the way they say that the colour choice is more natural... I'm not so sure... I would have preferred the Asian elephants to be a bit darker... And they seem almost the same models... ???
