Finally Schleich showed, that they CAN make an elephant in the right scale!
I think the size is correct for a male Asian elephant.
The skin texture improved very much to.

It is not an albino, as he has dark eyes in the first place...
There are white Asian elephants, although not as white as this one, but more very light grey, and they are sacred animals in India.

War elephants did not only came from Asia, as Hannibal had African elephants to my knowledge...

Anyway, i think it is a must have, for me to, although i don't like the fact, that the ornaments are not re-movable...

Yes! elephant have been using as weapon not only in asia... if you like it with ornaments that could be fine for you. It look like is penetrating adult collector market with more precise in scale!

It is true that the adult market is approached to here, but ok, boys like wartoys, even if they are ancient, isn't it?

I agree 100%. The skin texture is what really stood out to me. Very nicely done by Schleich.

Unfortunately I don't agree! If you are comparing the elephant with the zebra the scale is not correct. Anyway much better than the regular elephants. Asian elephants are twice high at the shoulder than a common zebra. And I'm not sure what kind of elephant is this one. The texture looks better in fact, Schleich Asian elephants are really bad textured. I must see this figure in a shop to really try to understand what they tried to do. As I told before, it is a beautiful figure! :)

Roger, I think it is possible for Asian elephant to be that size compared to zebra, record of high in shoulders for Asiatic elephant bull was 3.75 m. So more than two average plain zebras (1.1-1.47) standing one on another But, You are right even smaller would be nice size .
I like this figure very much, but I probably wouldn't have it, these ornaments and white skin and price...

Thanks Anna! That's the reason I'm always saying that making animals in scale is not the same as making cars or boats in scale. I work with average sizes while most part work with record sizes. When I think in a man in scale I use something about 1,75-1,80 m and not 2,70 m, that is the record, I guess!

This elephant is about 18cm tall & should be scale 1:18 or 1:20.

... this Elephant is meant to be a Fantasy animal - it is a lot larger and does spot
a meaner look than a *real Earth* Elephant. You could rather compare it with the
Olyphants from the Lord of the Rings than with an existing real Elephant.
