| Excellent shots, Christophe! Great details and they show the characters of the birds wonderfully! The last one is my favorite! _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| Hey, that's a black kite, not a buzzard :) Nice portraits :) About bird shows, Beauval have indoubtely the best and unbeatable bird show in the whole world and this is a very well known fact by every zoo enthusiast in the world. The little known park mentioned by Kikimalou can't have a bird show that ever approximate a bit the one of Beauval.
I wish very much to go to Beauval. It's one of my 17 favourite zoos from Europe that I want to visit some day and I never did yet. _________________ My collection:- (Details):

I have friends who attended both and praised the Le Puy du Fou's show over Beauval, but never seen either, personally Le Puy du Fou is actually well known. It is the second most popular theme park in France after Disneyland Paris. _________________ Konstantin

Pardo sincerely, how can you teach us about two places you never visited. It's a big mystery to me. I saw the two shows and Le Puy du fou one is a great show, not as good as Beauval for me but not so far. I saw Beauval show three times and Le Puy du fou only once. Le Puy du Fou isn't exactly a small unknown zoo but one of the most visited park in France, second only to Disneyland. It's an historical park theme and there is a bird show in the medieval part. I dislike the Puy du Fou because the way they show historical legends as facts give me too much itching. For me the only interresting thing in this park is the bird show. About the black kite, maybe you could be right, but I'm not sure, for the two first pics. For me, as far as I remeber the three other pics shows Common buzzards. - twilighter wrote:

| One don't need to visit a place for know about it For sure one know it more deeply when visit it, but is not necessary. There is a lot on online info about the Beauval bird show (more than for any of the other thousands of bird shows in different places in the world) and as I said is unbeatable. The Puy du Fou park probably have an average bird show, maybe like Pairi Daiza or Aguilas Jungle Park. I said little known just in comparison to Beauval, that given its animal rarities and bird show is very well known amongst zoo enthusiats. Maybe Puy du Fou is well known within history enthusiast, but for a person like me, that known the world cities only because of its zoos and not much else , Puy du Fou is a rather obscure place with not many interesting animals, so is the contrary to Beauval. And no, all of your 5 photos shows black kites, 100% sure. Common buzzards (and any other buzzard) are actually very different. The only pic that don't show a black kite is the one of the crested caracara. _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| I'm sorry but you don't know about it I have no doubt, because I really saw all of them, Le Puy du Fou bird show is far superior to the Pairi Daisa one, nearly as good as the Beauval one. About black kites and common buzzards, I don't agree with you 100% sure. Here are four pics, two are common buzzards and two are black kites, they are indeed very different. | You're right in one thing: this time indeed your two last pics are common buzzards, so it's patent here that they're so different :-) _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| As a seasoned birdwatcher who mostly identify on jizz, I would say kite too. I'm just sorry it is likely to make Pardo even more self-confident than he already is Anyway, your pics are once more well above average Christophe. |

| Rtas, I'm not a birdwatcher and I can't distinguish easily a Black kite from a Common buzzard without seeing the whole body, wings and tail. When I take bird pics in a zoo, I usualy note the bird's name or pictured it. In this case, I noted Common buzzard and I suppose the Puy du fou falconners know their job. Maybe I fumbled something ? Now, I would be vey happy if you explain me the differences between the two bird's heads on the four pics above. About my pics I thank you, 41 years ago I bought an old Rolleiflex 6X6 and spent my time learning photo and photolab technics so making nice pics is the least I can do |

About my pics I thank you, 41 years ago I bought an old Rolleiflex 6X6 and learned photo lab technics so making nice pics is the least I can do The small black stripes on the chest are typical of kites to begin with, the grey circle around the eyes, bill and throat on the first two pictures really looks kite too and the black eyebrow on the two following pics is typical of a black kite juvenile. But again, I identify based on "jizz". I know it might not sound serious but I have seen most French birds so many times in real and in identification books that I am rarely wrong, even if saying that makes me look as self-confident as my Spanish friend (which you'd know I am clearly not if you met me in real). However, your raptors are not typical-looking black kites : the second one is clearly a young one and the first almost looks red kite juvenile to me. |
