| This is so dramatic but I think I know what You wanted to say. It would be better if zoo gardens do not breed animals for colors and especially not by crossing closely related animals. For me Your work is like dramatic voice for not doing that. I think it is excellent if it can be understand as Your love for lions, you want their health. Thank You for sharing Philipp. |

| To understand it, one has to read at least a little of the very nice discussion (link). The more "white animals" appear as models, sometimes even "educational toys", the less dubious the omnipresent appearance of such creatures becomes. |

| Yes Philipp, I read all that topic previously. I agree with Your opinion and that's why for me this work is so dramatic. It is not fantasy creature but suffering one... |

| It's beautiful, which is part of its brilliance; an ironic statement about the willful pursuit of "beauty" at the expense of health. Anorexic supermodels? Blind Collies? Crippled German Shepherd Dogs? _________________ carolynn

| You know what happened in Barcelona with the white gorilla Snowflake. He was crossed a lot of times with closer family gorillas, for reaching another white gorilla. Snowflake had a lot of problems of health and people in Barcelona zoo wanted to "create" another ill animal |

| I don't know why I lost it! I'll not bring back the discussion, my opinions are clear in other topics. However I must say that the expression and message behind your work is very eloquent, dramatic and also with some humour. I'll only say that although it doesn't solve the problem. Symbolically I don't have a single white lion or tiger in my collection. Toys are beautifulbut very venomous contributions to the enthusiasm of future generations. The 2nd sculpting I'm not really getting the message, I see some young emembers laughing of it but I'll try to figure what is happening there. |

| I watched a documentary once about "purebred" dogs in one country, and what was happening was these breeders would keep breeding very closely related animals (I'm talking grandparents to grandchildren or even in some cases parents to childeren ) and they would get these dogs that looked "beautiful" (to special breeder standards) and these dogs would have serious issues just under the skin. As previously mentioned, German Shepherds with completely crippled hind legs, hind legs that were several, and I am talking like 6 inches, shorter than the front. Or they showed a pug, and the breeder had gone so hard for that corkscrew tail (breeding I think parent to child in this case) that the poor thing's spine was even "S" shaped in one place. And no offense to anyone, but english bulldogs are in my opinion one example of poor thought ( I still like the dog its just they don't look very natural to me ), they were bred so drastically that females do not even have wide enough hips to give birth naturally. All these breeds they compared to pictures of the same breed from anywhere to a hundred or a few hundred years previous, and there is drastic changes, the older breed looks much much much much much healthier than the afore mentioned. My argument does not only go for dogs, but horses, and every other domestic and wild species out there that humans are trying to alter for their own desires and views of "perfect". I appreciate your lion statement, the tiger one I am still figure out... |

Hey Roger, i totally agree to the argument concerning the power of toys. That's dangerous. It's too common to accept those white cats. Second figurine: it was more an idea to work with what was left when i used some parts for the clouded leopard. I can see there may be something sexual about it but i didn't focus on that. i just thought what a nice idea to use both the "more than cute" playful lion cub stuff and the weird attacking tiger-thing. So in the end the tiger even ends with a tail again and not as a roaring Manx-Cat. |

| I don't really think, that having models of white lions or tigers is harmfull, although children may like to see them in the real... We should let them extinct, and then those models of ours are like those we have from other extinct animals... |
