| Just love the modelling and the pose on this figure. Model number is 50046 and it was first issued in 2008. | That's a great figure although many people don't like it. It is one of my first Papo additions and I enjoy the small head although in a first glance it also looked a little small for me. You know, modern toys are almost always made with large heads and sometimes is hard to get correctly some proportions. What I like most in that figure is that it is a puma while the Schleich one is a domestic cat! Thanks for showing, Chris! :) |

| I think this is a beautifully sculpted figure and your pictures are great, Chris. Thank you for sharing them.
I confess when I first saw this figure in person, I was startled by how small it is. (However if one can't learn to live with a deal of variations in the scale of these figures, then there is pretty much nothing but disappointment ahead. So I got over it.)
It would be interesting to do a more detailed comparison between the Papo and the Safari. (I agree with Roger that the Schleich Puma is not one of their better efforts, but the Safari figure seems strong to me. Harriet's repainted version is wonderful.) |

| Very good pics of a very good model, Chris, thank you . I'm a PAPO puma lover too, like Roger I dislike too big head animals and I especially love the pose of this one. I wish PAPO would make a Jaguar as good as this one |

| Thankyou for these great close-ups, Chris Funny, - I never really noticed this little beauty Now comparing him to your pictures, I can see that mine is not nearly as nicely painted, esp in the face. Amazing how much the paintwork means, - like we see in the repaint from Harriet Welll....then perhaps I have one more papo variant to look for now |

Scott, I prefer models to be in relative scale such as Britains. However, like yourself if there is an animal figure that sets my heart pounding then I buy it whatever size it is! BTW that Harriet repaint is truly awesome! - scot(t) wrote:

Thanks for viewing these images Scott. My wife and I owned a T2 camper until the mid 1990's. She actually owned it long before I met her. - Kikimalou wrote:

Welll....then perhaps I have one more papo variant to look for now Susanne, after being taken by the pose of this model I was spell bound by the intricate painting. Luckily I had a few to chose from but I think all the versions I saw were equal. - Taylcoel wrote:

| With Chris's fantastic pictures of the Papo Puma and Harriet's wonderful before and after pictures of her repainted Safari on her blog, there isn't a need for any more photos. But I thought a side-by-side comparison picture of the two might be useful to some. This is just intended to be a very ( very) modest contribution. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Papo is quite a bit smaller -- not only smaller than the Safari, but also smaller than the other big cats by Papo. Looking at the picture, I'm noticing that the color of the Papo is quite nice and I prefer it to the Safari in that respect. They are both excellent figures and I for one am extremely happy to have both. If indeed Mojo will be releasing a Puma next year, that is wonderful news. I love these creatures. (I grew up calling them 'Cougars', I don't know why I use 'puma' now.) |

| thanks Roger! I originally had planned on posting a picture I took of the Noah's Pals Kinkajous overpowering the little Papo Puma, but decided that would not be quite as helpful. |

| Ahahah! ... and you didn't wanted to post that picture? These kinkajous have the tipical evil looking of Noah's figures! They are cute indeed but no problem at all once kinkajous are cute anyway. I hope someday add these creatures to my collection, thanks for the funny picture! |
