| Hi all, I think this is the model that would get to the market. .On the right is the first model for my taste is more realistic. .The left is the new model [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].The first model has down head and is serious. .The second model has the head up and is screaming. .the first model has dark colours, the second model has clear colours .the first model has support of a platform, the second model hasen´t . I like more the first model and you? |

| The first one was sooo much better... especially the colors. its so frustrating. they did the same thing with that arelan-guy, who had a very beautyful pose on the first pictures, but a boring pose in reality. And this gladiator seems to have a cheap-looking painting. but maybe it will be different again when he is in shops |

| Well, that sucks. Still, their humans generally do look... erm, odd. I'll still get the set though, as long as they don't mess up the hyena. |

| i think they should add the hyena to the wild life section but without the collor, that would be great, especially for 2013. if they did they should make a family for it. i cant wait to get this, my birthdays coming up soon so i will ask for it then. |

| Yeah, hope they'll make the hyena without the collar in their nature line... I want it so much! The new version of the human looks so much worse than the old one... The moment I saw the design of this hyena warrior, I thought that Schleich must have been inspired by these photos (you can see more by googling 'hyena men') [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]More info _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

| I do not like the gladiator but the hyena is great, so buy it. I wait that by 2013 make out a Roman coliseum and a Greek or Egyptian temple to create old life in egypt , Greece. . Would it be great not you think?

that is an amazing idea, i never thought about that. it would be fantastic if they did also it would remind me of last year when i went to rome and saw all the famous land marks. that would make the new heroes more interesting and will make it happier for children to play. Linked with your idea i think they schleich should make a new series of products like famous landmarks. such as the effiel tower, big ben, berg kalhifa( the tallest tower in the world, that i have just been up in the holidays)coliseum...... that would be fantastic, especially for collectors. if they ever did i would think they should not be too small neither to big, plus these real famous landmarks would probably then sell these products |

Also to attract more collections could take a famous movie figures like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. |

holy crap. this is so interesting. Thank you for posting Krista! I had no idea how big hyenas were until I saw the photo above. One always sees them next to Lions and they are so small in that context. This is utterly frightening. (But I still love hyenas.) Again, thank you! |

That's exactly what I thought When I saw the legs and head of it-massive |

That's exactly what I thought When I saw the legs and head of it-massive :affraid: You're welcome, Scott! Spotted hyenas are really stocky. And their jaws can easily crush a bone (even of a buffalo). So those people in the photos must really know how to control them... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They are truly amazing creatures, hyenas. : ) _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

(And by the way, I always think that the old Schleich Hyena figure is underrated. It just screams 'hyena' and is my favorite of all the available hyena models. But I don't know why I'm mentioning this since it's an entirely separate issue I guess. The hyena model that started this thread is pretty awesome too. Thank you Alvaro!) |

I really like the old Sch hyena too. Too bad that I haven't still found one. :( And I'd also like Schleich to release new hyena on its own and without the collar... It's an awesome and detailed figure! _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

It would be great if they released it without the collar. The old model is always available at Gaschers for € 12 (not including shipping). And I think they are brand-new, in their original packaging. http://www.gaschers-s.de/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=157&Itemid=144 |

Thanks for the link Scott!! I seriously have to consider this when I have some $$$ again : D I think that a lot of the animals from the human warrior + animal -series (idk the name) would sell if they released them without the people... The bear is awesome too. _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

Well there are lots of people who like those sets for both the Human AND the Animal Sidekick. I for example only collect the humanoid figures and don't even care for the animals (except for everything cats) ... so if you want just the animals from those sets, buy them and re-sell the human figures on ebay. |

Hi Barricade. I think you make a very good point. I also think Krista's suggestion was that it would be nice if they sold the figures separately in addition to selling them as pairs. Based on what you wrote, it sounds like that might make all of us happy, since (for example) it could give you the option of being able to collect some of the humanoid figures without the animals that you don't want. I've often thought about getting the set that has the Black Panther. Even though it's the same figure as Schleich's normal Leopard, they don't sell the Panther version separately. The problem (for animal collectors) with the recent Hyena is that it is sculpted with the collar. It's disappointing for us; but we certainly realize that for other collectors, it is cool and desirable. |

| .That's a good idea, Krista. .True Scot!: The trademark Schleich get to sell more models separately Bayala collectors buy the animal and humans, while animal collectors, buy only the animals. |
