Hi Barricade. I think you make a very good point. I also think Krista's suggestion was that it would be nice if they sold the figures separately in addition to selling them as pairs. Based on what you wrote, it sounds like that might make all of us happy, since (for example) it could give you the option of being able to collect some of the humanoid figures without the animals that you don't want.

I've often thought about getting the set that has the Black Panther. Even though it's the same figure as Schleich's normal Leopard, they don't sell the Panther version separately. The problem (for animal collectors) with the recent Hyena is that it is sculpted with the collar. It's disappointing for us; but we certainly realize that for other collectors, it is cool and desirable.

Well, as far as I know the *Animal Sidekick* figures in the Bayala, Arelan and New Heroes
lines are somehow overdrawn a bit (like they're a bit more supernatural or comicesque),
and I wouldn't worry about not getting a good Hyena or Hedgehog or whatever animal in the
regular Wildlife or Farmlife lines of Schleich - those *animal only* figures will surely also be
sculpted much more lifelike and natural compared to (for example) the huge Battle Elephant.
So I believe it's just a matter of sitting back, waiting for the years and stuff to come, and to
just continue the joy of collecting and hunting stuff down. Maybe the black Panther repaint
that came with Noctis wasn't sold as a single animal because Schleich does have something
up their sleeves for the animal collectors already ... who knows ...

Yeah, I meant that it'd be good that Schleich also released animal-only versions of the human+animal sets. I never meant that they should retire the humans : (

Anyways the hyena is a very realistic rendition (at least to me), only thing that bugs me is the collar ;__;

I also have no problem with the creatures with some fantasy aspects... I'd totally buy the forest unicorns, if they sold them without the fairies. Well, I hope I'll find them loose at the flea market some day.. :)

I don't like the hyaena men, because i have heard something bad about them and they torture the hyaenas.

Thats horrible, no wonder there acting so calm

I could care less about the human(most of their humans are ugly in my opinion) It's that hyena I'm looking forward too. It looks so nice! I'm glad at least it didn't change(for the worse.)

Sadly in most cases it's the often sloppy factory paint that makes some of
the most beautiful figures look not as good as they actually are ...

... here are just a few examples that when painted properly they aren't ugly at all ...

I love those elves these models are very realistic way of painting both Schleich, much like that, do you paint you?
The model of the hyena man is fine but I do not like this pin Treaty.

Are this elves repainted by you? They looks very great.

Well they look nice! If it's the paint jobs then it's a real shame that it hinders the beauty of the sculpt.

I just got the gladiator and Hyena. I love the hyena...not sure if the color is correct or off. I wish Schleich would come out with this animal without the collar...he is very active and fierce looking--like in a battle with a lion pride. I do not want to buy the set in multiples to get a clan together--I will go broke.
