Starlux Nouba Ram Empty
PostSubject: Starlux Nouba Ram   Starlux Nouba Ram EmptyFri Feb 01, 2013 5:29 am

I found this darling little sheep on ebay and would love to know what she is. the little blanket/saddle makes me think she's part of a set, a circus maybe?? why else would a sheep wear a fancy blanket?  She has no markings at all.
can anyone help me with what she is?

Not sure it is a circus sheep. It looks like a ram with a military style cover. A lot of British Army regiments use a ram as a mascot and even give him a rank!

Chris, i bet you're right! That means there should be other animals like him out there.... (I notice i've just changed from calling it "her" to "him." Obviously a must if he's a regimental mascot!
I hope someone knows what he is.

Nouba was the name of the band of French colonial regiments, especially the Moroccan ones. The ram was the mascot of the regiment. Wink

Nouba is now a synonym of party, fiesta in French. Doing the nouba tonight mean you will be very tired tomorrow morning. Laughing
