| Yesterday i had a small Britains lot coming in. The 2061 Britains deetail farmer, and the 2045 Britains vintage shepherd, which is a double. I bought the last one for a very good friend of mine, who just started to collect Britains... The so called vintage series are from the 1960's and 1970's(often based on earlier lead models from the earlier decades). The so called deetail series are from the late 1970's and 1980's, they replaced a lot of the earlier vintage models. Here are the pics: Both items 2061 Britains deetail Farmer 1986, together with a late vintage model, which i always use to see the scale of my farm-models and related items 2045 Britains vintage Shephard 1971 _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Thank you girls! That could be possible Harriet, as my oldest catalogue is from 1969, and the shepherd is in there too, and mine says 1972. I have to check my other shephard, but i think, it is from the same time. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Today i had this lot coming in... It is one of the oldest Britains horses in plastic, the 2109 Cart horse, this is the darkbrown version. Next to that, i had 3 horseback-riders. The man is from the 2078 set, the females from the 2079 set. In the female i had 2 variations, the lighter one is the deetail version, so more from the late 1970's and 1980's, were the darker one is from the late 1960's, and the 1970's, same for the male rider too. I do have the horses on which they should sit already, they are to be seen in my collections on Collectors Quest. I did make some pics of these riders, with the even later Britains Ertl sets, to see on what horse they belong normally. There was another cart-horse in this lot too, i think it is made in China, unknown maker. The complete lot 2109 Britains Cart horse, darkbrown, 1960's and 1970's The male horseback-rider from the 2078 set from the 1970's The model with the much later Britains Ertl model on the horse, still made now The Britains amazone from the 2079 set The later Britains deetail version And the ladies, together with the complete set, but from Britains Ertl, still made now And the made in China Cart-Horse... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Congratulations Willy! I like the cart horse a lot. I have a similar one, but its pose is slightly different. I haven't got a good picture of it, but you can see it in this picture I took a while ago, at the back next to the highland cow… Do you know how old this one is? |

| I adore these old Britains figueres. Funny, I have 3 or 4 from my childhood. They were not sold in Denmark then, somebody must have bought them for me in another country. - but children don`t care about where they came from |

| I have most of those farm animal Britain's in my collection(besides my Britain's zoo animals). I love them! Now, I want all the collectors to look at the Britains farm animal photo and see how nice everything looks in scale! That's what I want the Papo, Schleich, Safari LTD to do, make all the figures in the same scale, so that when put together they all look proportional! Plus, take notice of such nice craftsmanship and detail on the figures : ) |

| Nice collection Harriet! I think, i have about 50 Britains horses only... And loads of other stuff, because this was one of the first brands i collected from my youth on... I saw your cart-horse in the late 1960's and early 1970's Britains catalogues Harriet, and i wondered already why mine was different from those pics, so i guess it is just from before, or just after that. Here are some pics from the 1970 catalogue with the cart-horse on it, i think it is yours. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Congratulation Willy. It seems, in that crisis time, the equestrian realm is a good placement |

| I think, in the realm of collecting is always a good place to hide, and something to hunt for! _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Thanks for the picture Willy, I wish I had the cart to go with the horse. They look so smart together. Unfortunately my cousin had a lot of these models before me and lots were lost or broken |

| No thanks! That is a shame, as the complete sets are quit expensive these days, specially boxed... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Catalogue pics are in the catalogue section already Baltimore! But i think that those figurines are not even in a poor condition Harriet, sometimes it is hard to get certain models at all, not even talking about the condition... There is played with, with seems normal to me for the age they are. You must be lucky to find them all in mint-condition, which i prefer too, but in some cases this is an utopy... But anyway, i still need some Britains stuff... I need the older Asian elephant, the black panther and the running African elephant, and some more... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Yes, I know they're in the other section, I'm just looking at your repost. Are you talking about the bull African elephant(running)?

| You lucky guy! It is not very hard to find, but for a good price..., it is about the same price as the other big elephants... I still need the oldest Asian elephant too... And the black panther too! And a few of the zoo-enclosures... I need the tropical pool and the artic-pool still... But i have the rock-pit, mint and boxed... , and the zoo in box, missing the flag-poles only(but i have the flags...), the cages-set in box, and 2 of the chimp tea-party's... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
