I'm with you on that one. Okapi's are fantastic stunning creatures followed by Antelopes....im my opinion of course.

My predictions about retirements were made while looking to the cathalog and it results!
The fox, the eagle, the white tailed deers, walrus and octopus...
I hope Schleich is giving us new deers!
but we have a very old hippo staying a live!
And this okapi is from 2007? So it is a looser... fortunately there are others in the market!
My niece wants a camel in her collection... OK... when she grows that will be a very old iten!

I just noticed there will be no goats in Farm Life Schleich collection next year. I think it's not good idea-kids will be unable to buy goats for play.

That's right Ana! Unless Schleich makes new one during the year! I think goats are hard to sell... the boer goats were retired in 2008 and it was the only 2008 retired iten that I can find in shops.
But that's a strange space left for other brands... and there's no horned deers, are Schleich thinking that a kudu should act like a deer for children?

I have loved Okapi's ever since I saw one at London zoo when I was a kid in 1985-86. The obsession has remained ever since and my wish for a company to make realistic okapi models only came true with the Schleich one but even then no family. Oh well....

I want to join the OKAPI FAN CLUB, Too. They have been my favorite animal since I was five or six years old. I would buy a hundred okapis too. When I visit a zoo that has Okapis I can watch them for hours. They are the best. I agree OKAPI"S RULE.

Well, nothing shocking for me in those retired items for me...
And i still have to buy some of them again too, since i had to sell my Schleich collection some years ago now.
But no worries, they come all back, as most of them already have...
But i don't understand the roebucks too, they were not the worst of the deer-family, and not the oldest either...
And i am ok with the black bears, if they replace them for another species.
Anyway, for me, they can make a figurine just for one year, and replace it for another one the year after...
When i do buy a figurine, what use does it have for me to continue this figurine for more years after that?
I just need one of them, isn't it?
