Is this information completely reliable now? Not that I wanna be suspicious, it just seems too good to be real! If it is, then it seems like I was right about the Falabella foal!!

I am 90% sure it is real.He said he was allowed to see the photos!

Well that's a nice list! Of course I'm mainly looking at the horses department. I was expecting the Falabellas after seeing Willy's picture of that Schleich book, and I wasn't surprised about the Knabstrupper, Pintos, Dartmoors and Poitou donkeys either because Schleich has this family thing going on. However there was a nice and complete surprise, the Akhal-Teke! I remember someone having this one on their wish list. :)

Aaww I just can't wait to see photos! Arctic fox is a wonderful species, have to buy it when comes in.

Thank You for this info Mihnea! I can't wait to see photos. I'm very happy to hear about new rabbit, especially cleaning itself I'm also excited about arctic foxes, kudu, buffaloes, wolverine and Achal Tekinner!!! Disappointed to not see new sheep and hippos on the list.

How i know is it only the list for the January news. Maybe in May or September comes more.

I like this list very much!

Cape buffalo was a dream come true!
I'm not very pleased about the cattle they're bringing out, I was hoping for something more unusual like a Belted Galloway or a Jersey cow Still a long horn calf will be cute.

I think the list looks pretty good, but it´s hard to say what yu think about them befor you see the pics. But I think I´m gonna like quite a few of them

Yes you're right Anna, wait to see what they look like before making any accusations.

I guess it is best to reserve judgement on this list til we see the pictures. I want to be excited by them all but I just feel something is lacking. I can't put my finger on it.

I am glad to see a pinto mare and foal..... I still think they should make a new knabstrupper foal. his neck is weird... he would be cute in a trotting or running position! :) but the dilute cat sounds cool, and the grey geese and cape buffalo's, and the arctic foxes. I think they should introduce another heavy horse breed, or new goats. can't wait for the pictures!

Thanks for the list but the list is soooo small! There are only a handful of wildlife models...this cant be....I was really hoping to see some new Okapi's and even a male Gazelle...oh well lets hope there are more coming.

Kudu and buffalo families sound awesome!!!

Now my Papo kudu will have a wife + baby (from former marriage... )

Yes I agree, they should have brought another heavy horse out, like a Suffolk Punch.

Otherwise I'm happy with the horse list, but they could have introduced more new breeds than just the Akhal-Teke. All the rest are just completing the already existing breed families. But I really like new Pintos and Falabellas coming out, and the Akhal-Teke! So great that Schleich has the "courage" to make rarer breeds too, like the Schwarzwald family last time. I'm TRYING not to make up any expectations about the new models before the pictures are available but I can't help thinking "I hope they made the Pinto mare black and white instead of brown and white..."

8 New horses, i'm disappointed about the fact that it is only one new breed. But i'm exited in the fallabela family, i bought the fallabela as one of my first when i started collecting.

Only seven horses retired, schleich has once again more horses in the collection than the year before.

Some nice pieces there, but after this year with many new models it has to come fast, that it is a little less next year. And again no Bongo here, probably, why? Why only kudus, even if I like them?.
Because the wild animal models (excluding forest animals) to always just came out in January. But perhaps the list is still not complete?

Well, I must confess that I'm not impressed by the above list, after so much waiting and anticipating...
The only animal that really excites me here is the wolverine - it's a rare species to see as a figurine? and all the wolverine figures I have seen very not up-to-the-martk. Hopefully, Schleich had done their best in sculpting it.
As to the others... There are already three cape buffaloes on the market, 3 or 4 bald eagles, two kudus (Papo and the upcoming Safari lesser kudu which will be quite large )... Of course, buffaloes look good in herds, but all the three buffaloes I've got (Papo, Safari & Collecta) look so-o-o different as if they were different subspecies.
And as I'm not fond of Arctic/Antarctic fauna, I'm not very glad to see the arctic fox and penguins.

Finally, I seem to have dropped a clanger with my whole "Asian wave" hypothesis...

Indeed, last January they introduced 25 new wild animals, and in Jan'09 - 17. And we see no "Forest life" species in the list, so I believe there'll be more in May.
The only thing that disquiets me is that they'll retire 12 wild animals, and in the above list there are already 11 new wild critters.
