Rarities ! The SUY for August 2014 !

Ha, maybe we should have a thread dedicated to historical animals. Thank you for the information, I love learning new things so this is interesting. And all you learn of Napoleon in general schooling was his reign and conquers. Rather boring usually. I'd much rather know about his horses.

Very interesting seeing everyone's rare figures.

Here are a few of mine.
A pack of Jeol hyenas

The large Merten African elephants. They are 1:43 scale, about 3/4 the size of Britains

Great rarities too, i know it is hard to find Merten animals :)

Bandai (woodpecker finch, Sambar deer, pheasant pair and Stellers sea eagle)

Oh wow, that Bandai woodpecker is very educational.
Pulling out grub with a stick.
I like that one a lot.
More companies should do that.
Showing animals doing what they do to survive in the wild.

I'm not sure if these are such rare birds but I definitely have a problem with gathering all of them

Congrats, Andreas, the long-awaited African bird finally arrived in Dresden...

My two Schleich WWF-models.
There are 6 different ones in the series, but with the absolutely crazy prises they fetch these days, I am sure I will never have the rest

These are "official" rarities, Susanne! They look very happy! :) Those pieces have an unique design and the base gives them a kind of prestige looking. Out of my cogitations, of course. Affraid:

my new rarieties, the java sparrow by a "unknown" japanese brand and the Yujin black-necked spitting cobra

Another topic just reminded me of a couple of rarities in my collection  

The framer with blue trousers and white shirt seems to be almost impossible to find these days.
But this one came to stay with me several years ago, - years before Gascher's, I saw him and his wife on a local E-auction, and I thought they were charming. The price was about 2 - 3 Euros as far as I remember  

The lady is not so rare on the market, but she is HIS wife, so of course she had to be in the photo, too

Andother Schleich : The black "Artists horse".
Again I was lucky to get this beauty before prices went berserk

And two Safari dinos, which I think are rather hard to find. Both from the old "Dino-tales" series.
