Willy, I don't want to explain you nothing about animals, you have a long history as collector! But this leopard even with strange painting is clearly a leopard. See for example, the very long tail, too long for a jag and jaguars are darker inside of the black marks! It is some bodybuilt like a jag but you can easily see the shape of the skeleton like in a leopard!
About the gorilla a young gorilla is a nice optionthinking in a sub-adulte simce CollectA has a gorilla baby!

BTW Nicole was obsessed by Papo Mothers with cubs and she doesn't wanted the adulte gorilla because it was not able to carry the baby in its mouth! So she gaves a new mother to the gorilla baby! lol!
Fortunately I still have an old pic of it, the mother is the Bullyland giganatosaurus!Very Happy
I love Nicole's sense of humour! tongue

Congratulations for nice new figures Willy!
I'm not sure about species of both "raccoons", the first one could be ring tail and the other one is rather similar to raccoon dog, isn't it? :)

PostSubject: Some AH WWF Models and a Corgi Toys Model came in last week...   Sat Feb 26, 2011 2:27 pm

I think it was thursday, that i had this little lot coming in.
I paid only a few euro's for it, so that is nice.
These are models made for the Dutch Supermarket Albert Heijn(AH), in their WWF series.
I have quit a few of them, including these birds.
But as i knew that my good friend Christophe liked them, i did quickly catch them.
The green frog with broken legg is for myself, as i missed him in this series.
There is a toco toucan included in this deal to, but the seller forgot to pack him, so this will follow later, and i will put a pic of my own here to see him.

The rhino is from a Safari-set from Corgi Toys in the 1960's.
Good for me, that i have pictured many many models in my head, so i quickly recognize them when i see them. Laughing
Here are some pics:

That is a very cool toy set with the VW and the rhino. When I was 10 years old on my birthday I received a safari jeep with a rhino but I do not remember the brand. It quickly became my favorite toy.

PostSubject: Diverse New Items from different makers came in for March 2011...   Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:03 pm

In several different lots, i had the same difference in models and makers coming in in march.
Here are all the pics, which i didn't show in the other categories.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Made in China, a little bit odd, but he is a big guy who loves bananas!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Made in China, quit reasonable...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Made in China, a copy of the AAA model from China, which was made in former Schleich series to.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Made in China, the one in front is new, so another variation.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Made in China, a freshwater turtle, not bad at all.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Also made in China, and not very accurate, but for that he is a lot of fun, as he is movable, and makes sounds...
When you push down the head, you hear the roar of a lion first, at the second time, you hear the sound of a zebra which is afraid and is warning for predators, very realistic sounds!
I did put it on youtube specially for you guys, here is the link:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Here are some other models from different makers i had in to.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Polarbear, made by K&M-Wild Republic, China.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
African Elephant, quit a big guy, Tom Major(TM), made in China.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Also Tom Major, the left one is a new variation to me.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
A huge giraffe, from Tom Major also.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Tom Major Lions, the one on the left is a new variation for me.
I only keep significant variations...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

PostSubject: Different older models came in for August 2011...   Tue Aug 30, 2011 2:56 pm

Yesterday and today, i had some very different models coming in...
Here are the pics:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Reindorf African elephant
I couldn't find anything on this brand on the net.
It was a coffee or chocolate brand probably in the 1950's and/or 1960's, which gave this model away then.
So if any of you knows more about this brand, please tell me so... Laughing

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Jean Höffler Lion

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Jean Höffler Wolf

I had both models as a child, but i was missing them in my Jean collection now, so i found them again.
The wolf looks a little bit like a fox, but i am sure that it was ment to be a wolf.

And i found some nice U-Ei/Ferrero choco-egg models to:

Lynx

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Meercats

Congratulations for your "new" figures and BTW, I'm sure it is a wolf! tongue

Again some very interesting and fine figueres from Willy. cheers

The little elefant is ever so cute, - tell the man with the broom he must not pull its tail affraid

Thankyou so much for sharing, Willy.
You are a gem to the forum, you really expand our knowledge of strange brands. Others do it too, of course, but I think I am not offending anyone to say that you are really the expert in rare, old brands Wink

Thank you very much Susanne, Harriet, Andreas and Rogerio!
If i am an expert, that is the question, but you get one little by little trough the years of collecting.
It is just, that i stumble on nice things during my roams on the internet, mainly e-bay, and then find those things. cheers
How more brands you see and collect, how easier it gets to recognize them on the first look...
I never heard of this mark or brand Reindorf before, and as i said, i can't find anything on it yet... Rolling Eyes
The elephant has the same quality as the Linde and Siku figurines, more the first actually, and the sculpting is quit good to.
Yes Rogerio, the model is a wolf, but has a foxy look ,haha, or maybe even of a German shepherddog.
But when you like it, and i find another one, i will send it to you, ok?
I will do that with fox-models that i don't have myself anyway! Very Happy

I told the zoo-keeper not to pull the elephants tail Susanne, but it was to late, and you see the elephant running now, he was scared! affraid

Of course the U-Ei figurines do not have the highest quality, but the models are nice sometimes.
So many people do collect them, and the eggs to, as they seem to change a lot in colour and shape.
anyway, i thought those 2 meercats were cute, and i liked the lynx, even when he was in parts... Laughing

By the way, for who has the space, there are shops that sell almost life sized models, and some are very good to, but not all...
Some are regular Schleich copies, like the austrich!
But if you search the net for garden figurines like this, you will be wondered how much stuff there is! Shocked

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is just an example, but they have so much more!

Yes, i must admitt, that i like those AH figurines very much to.
they have a nice quality to, and the most are quit accurate to see.
I stumbled by accident on them on a market-site here in the Netherlands.
I never saw these when they appeared in the supermarket, or i never even knew that this supermarket had this action to give them away with your groceries.
Just a short time ago, they had animal-pictures, which were given away with your groceries, that i know... Rolling Eyes

As this lot contained 3 different of the modern brands, i had to put the pics of this lot here:

The whole lot...

The same model was made for Schleich in the early 1990's to, Safari still produces it.
Same for the next model.

210502 Safari Monterey Bay Collection Humpbackwhalecalf

Here are they both with their mothers i already had:

67401 Bullyland Whaleshark

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
67404 Bullyland Spermwhale

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
67405 Bullyland Orca

I had the orca and spermwhale already, but these were slightly better in shape.
The spare orca is good enough for the trade or sale, so who is interested can PM me.
The spermwhale and another Bullyland dolphin are good enough to make a little neighbourboy happy... Laughing

After all, expensive lot?, of course not!
You know me, the both big Schleichs, the 2 Safari MBC babywhales and the 3 old Bullylands together, just 9,99 euro! cheers

Wow nice Willy! The MBA whale calfs are actually discontinued since 2009 or 2008. You should try to get the MBA Adult Sperm whale too as its been retired as well and the sperm whale calf (the sculpt is beautiful).

I need to finish the Schleich whales as well, luckily I already have the adult grey whale, adult sperm whale, minke whale, and adult orca.

OH, that's incredible how much you pay for a sea life collection! These whales in shops are horribly expensive and hard to collect! Lucky you that are an expert finding low prices!
Congratulations for your whales and I hope you have space enough for them in your house! Maybe an Ocean room!
Lucky your little neigbor living near you! But be careful, very soon you will have a complete kindergarden knocking on your door! affraid

Thank you Rogerio and Andreas!
Yes, that was a real bargon indeed, although the shipment costs did add to it, but they were 8,90 euro, so even then this lot was very cheap! Wink
Only the Schleich grey whale is sold here for 17 euro at its cheapest, and i paid not even 19 euro's for the whole lot together.
I keep the son of my friend happy, but i will keep of all of the other buggers Rogerio, don't worry, haha. Twisted Evil

I do have to agree with you on the last part, I do love Schleich's whales (cute and all) but Safari Ltd's is a lot more realistic, it reminds me of real whales and those large scale models you see at museums and aquariums. I remember on the LG forum someone said they liked a lot better Schleich's tiger shark because its more realistic and you said it was ugly, lol that made me laugh.

I do have to say Schleich's Minke whale is a lot more realistic looking one out the of the Schleich bunch. But the Schleich whales have character. I can't believe the calfs have been retired. I have to say Schleich's recent great white shark is awesome and real looking!

Thanks Ana, K, and Sergey!
Well, the Schleich whales are not bad, and besides the Minke whale, the northern right whale is not bad either, only to bad it is in the smaller marine series...
But the quality of the Safari MBC is awesome.
They are better in scale, and when you have an adult in your fingers, you know what i mean, big and heavy, and full of detail! cheers
Yes, the story with that Schleich tigershark was funny, of course it is ugly, why lie about it?
It looks very toyish, and not realistic at all! Laughing
On which forum that was again...? Haha geek

PostSubject: A Lot with different fish came in for September 2011...   Thu Sep 08, 2011 12:56 am

I found another lot, this time with fish, made in China, so the quality is not so good obvious, and the species are hard to determinate...
There were 11 animals in the set, including 2 the same.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The complete lot.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Blue and black koi, i believe it was ment to be...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Because it was there in yellow to...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Deepsea fish, can anybody tell me which species this should be?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I think, this was ment to be a jumping trout.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
At least, this one is clear, a Mahi-Mahi, or goldmackerel.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I am pretty sure this is a goldfish.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Another unknown tropical corall/seafish for me... Rolling Eyes

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I know very well, that this is a common treshershark.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Two nice seahorses.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
And a reasonable Powder Blue Tang, or PB Surgeonfish.

No high quality here, but finally some more fish in the collection.

Again we see some species that others don`t make, in these humble Chinese figueres, -that gold macrel is great.
The green fish are surely meant to be something specific, I wonder what alien scratch

Congratulations flower

Thanks Susanne, Mihnea and Andreas! Very Happy
I had this fishmodel that you mean before in my youth Mihnea, but it was greyish black and white as far as i can remember.
You are asking me to trade it, and just when it came in, me as a fishman?
When i find a double one, i am happy to give it to you, but not now, as it is my only one, sorry... Wink
I am wondering if this is a deepsea fish, or a pre-historic one, i really don't know, it could be both... Laughing Rolling Eyes
