| One of the most obscure sets in my collection is this complete set of hand painted lead figures of a Tiger hunt by Hiriat of Uruguay. These were never mass produced and custom made to order. In 1:32nd scale and sculpted by Guilermo Hiriat the set features a hunter firing rifle, startled woman, mahout, elephant with a howdah, woman running, native beater, tiger leaping, tiger walking, python, and a palm bush. | They are beautyful- do you know how old they are ?
Judging from the style and the topic they must be quite old ... |

| Thank You Susanne. Given the information I have they must have been 1960s though they appear to look 1950s era. The company was founded in Uruguay by Jaime Hiriart in the 1960s and is now run by his son Guillermo Hiriart from his apartment in Montevideo. Guilermo does the sculpting, casting, and assembly and 2 women do the painting. Distribution is limited and all are sets are made to order. Hiriart does not stock any inventory. This was the only information I could find on the company. |

| What a beautiful set! And in such a great condition too. I can't quite work it out: Is the man with the beard attached to the box on the elephant or is that an optical illusion? |

| The man with the beard is not attached - it just shifted as they are only held in place by string. He is meant to be kneeling as a mahout on the neck of the elephant. And yes, they are hollow bellied much like Beton figures. |
