Welcome to the zoo : The pictures - New pics 23 january 2021

Now a pic from one of the sadest zoos that i have ever visited. In my holidays in Bulgaria we visited the zoo of Varna (Bulgaria). It was a very small zoo with only a few aniamls. But the condition of this animals was sadly

I have only one pic because we visited this zoo in the end of the day and so the camera battery was too low for more pics.

Too bad there is still old fashion zoos in Europe, I know we have bigger problems than that but ut is still a very sad thing.

Here in Poland we also have zoos that require lots of changes... Which is sad, actually. Most of the cages are too small   

And now let's talk about two zoos I visited for the first time this year. First I came to a small but really beautiful one in Bretagne. The Tregomeur zoo is specialized in Asiatic and Malagasy fauna. No elephants or rhinos but a few nice species I will show these days... And I went also to... a new old zoo in France but we will talk about it later

Very interesting thread here showing everyone's zoo pictures.  A while back I went to the San Diego Zoo and also their Safari Park in California, here are some pictures from there.  Both were very impressive with a lot of rare species plus the Safari Park has HUGE enclosures for all the animals.

Through some connections I was given special access to the elephant barn where I got to meet and feed them up close.  I also fed the Okapi and Black rhino.  The Park has Black, Indian, Southern and Northern White rhinos.  At the time there were about 17 African elephants plus 6 Indian with both cows and bulls for each species.

Safari LTD, Papo, AAA were on the shelves in one of the gift shops.
