Welcome to the zoo : The pictures - New pics 23 january 2021

And now a few "Australian" pics of Koala, Red kangaroo and Swamp wallabies

The humboldt penguin's pool was full of beautiful Inca terns

The american buffalo's herd had two newcomers...

At last we have spent time in the South american corner to visit some Brazilian Guinea pigs, Giant anteaters (for Anna and Rogério   ) and Maras

What a horrible father and husband you are!

So many animals And very, very nice zoo photos

Stop ! Stop !  I just can't take in so much horror in one go

I have to wait after seing those Indian Rhinos  , - OMG ! They are so wonderful, beautyful, awesome, fantastic, incredible, charming, ...no, erhm, I mean....

No ! I can't think of anything bad to say of them, - arrrrhhhhw, I love them

That's a fabulous abuse of authority!
Indian rhinos are such impressive creatures and you captured it in a magnificent way! We can see the powerful but at the same time gentle animal it is. I love the last picture that shows how it can walk with the legs centered behind their massive bodies making almost the silhouette of a tree.
Among all these top quality pictures, I have to focus in these giant anteaters, as you noted, my personal most beloved ones and I am never tired of admiring how unusual they look! Thanks for taking us for a walk in that exciting place.

Great photos, thanks for sharing Christophe. The bathing rhino images are great for reference, an interesting individual which looks like there was some healed scaring on the right flank possibly from fighting.

Thanks for the elephant images also, did you see the new calf? They had two calves recently in the past few months but one died.

Such great photos as usual! And the next time I'm in a bad mood... I think I will definitely try your version of medication. Nothing beats a good day at the zoo after all.

I went to Pairi Daiza this summer, this zoo is a little bit more than 1 hour driving from my home. I was ready for a great day because I missed this place for a few years now. I was really excited to watch the changes ....  Unfortunately, the biggest change this day was the weather, after less than two hours a windy endless rain began and it definitively ruined my trip.

Nevertheless, I managed to make a few pics I forgot to share with you. Here they are

However I never missed to take a look at the Indian rhinos enclosure, the amazed me

I see the surviving calf but he was too far for me to take good pics.

Last weekend my daughter and myself flyed to Munich to visited the our friends in Eichenau. We knows them since on holiday in Egypt. Monday decided my daughter to go with in the school of her girlfriend. So i decided to visited the zoo of Munich alone :)

Such beautiful photos, Cristophe - the snow leopard ones are particularly stunning, especially the first one. That Brazilian guinea pig is too cute! I didn't know they were kept in zoos.

 fumbled for the Golden takin    I edited    That kind of things happened when I woke up to early in the morning  

There was so much wind and rain that I never reached the Elephant enclosure    Indeed, I only visited less than a quater of the park    better days will come

Thank you Trovalsa     I thought capybaras were very common zoo Citizens   Here they are in every zoo I visited

I really love these birds with big bills , I am not saying it because of your comment Christophe, I really love these creatures. ... and now I have a hornbill in my collection to enjoy!
