I'm going to add a few stripes photos as well.  This is the whole reason I wanted to go to the San Antonio Zoo.

I've only seen one Okapi and it was just a brief sighting.

Thanks Gabe and Rhiannon. I am glad you enjoyed the photos. She was amazing. There was a male in another enclosure, but I didn't get a very good picture of him unfortunately. As soon as I saw that they had an Okapi, that was the place I wanted to go. I thought about Sea World, but I have been there before. I wanted to go see something I may never get another chance to see. They also had a Malayan Tapir, but I couldn't get a good picture of it. It was lying right at the wall under the glass and the glare was too bad to get a good picture. When I went to the other side, there was too many fences and glares on the glass to get a good picture from that angle either. We will plan another trip to go back and go to Sea World and I may try to go back to the zoo then too.

I know I'm a lucky guy because I live at a little more than 1hour driving from the Antwerpen zoo where a bunch of okapi is living.
Congo was a Belgian colony so...

On Saturday , at the zoo, the bongo wasn't the only baby I saw.

Here are some pics of another one. The pics are not as good because there is less light and the place was overcrowded but I hope you will enjoy them

I don't have a good digital camera yet, but i will put some my amateur pics in another tread too.
Next to that, i had the idea to show pics of animals in your direct area, like your garden(or in my case the garden of my girlfriend), around your house and so on.
These can be mammals, birds, insects and so on.
For this i will make another tread too.

Yes please!! As I don't have any Zoo animal pictures But I have lots of wildlife ones from where I live!

I decided to put some pictures here, from my visit to the Rotterdam Blijdorp Zoo in the beginning of august 2008.
I took the pics with the cam on my cell-phone, which has only 5 MPX.
Here are some of the best pics, they can be big.

Since this park with free entrance is just outside of the city where my girlfriend lives, i visit it one or two times a year normally.
Here are some pics from 2007, where i came very close to the Przewalskihorses and a Hooperswan.
I was able to feed the horses from my hands.

Haha, yes Kiki, the pics were big as i said, taken with another camera, and i forgot to take them in another size.

Great photos Willy. My favorites, of course, have to be the Przewalski's Horse. They are so beautiful.

Glad everyone liked mine. It was fun watching the baby climb the sides and swing on the rope and climb down to mama.
