Papo is being very smart, renweing some models, introducing some new generations to update the average quality of their range but often, using different poses. It turns the collecting hobby more interesting, loved that they used babies using different "riding" styles.
I also agree with the somewhat "vintage" touch that we see in some Papo.

You are not the only one  I love them too , - I love them more and more the longer I look at them  

Although I am not collecting horses actively these days, I am very happy of knowing that I am not hte only one enjoying them and seeing them much better received in your pictures than they were from catalogue pics. I think a new Icelandic will work perfectly with that new Safari style.

Two great old and new comparisons Kiki. The very artistic lions, especially the left one has a very accentuated French touch. ... and the challenge of the realistic thing witht these superb Kitan salamanders.

Definitely lots of improvement in the anatomy with the new Papo kangaroo. But the older version of the little joey peeking out of its mother's pouch has a cute face.

I agree the old one was really odd but very charming

The new one is now my red kangaroo favorite.
