| The Model Horse Blab forum has several swaps throughout the year, where you make a custom Stablemate for a partner according to their likes and preferences. Your partner doesn't know who you are and you don't know who your partner is. The person you're making a horse for is not making a horse for you. Confused yet? In the end, everyone receives a custom Stablemate. Here's the Stablemate I made for my partner, this was a Halloween swap so I made a little pumpkin to go with my swap horse. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]She (the horse ) has a new mane, new forelock, modified tail, and added horn which was also sculpted by me. The horn decided to break four times, hopefully it won't break again! I finished her in pastels with the eyes, hooves, horn, and snip done in acrylics. The eyes are glossed with clear varnish.

| That's great, Leeann! Do you know, I like the idea, maybe we can make something similar on STS. We have several members that enjoy customizing horses. Maybe it can be done with standard sized horses of major brands? Something to think about. |

Something to think about. Thanks Roger! I had thought about making the suggestion, but the only problem is shipping costs. As most of us on Blab live in the United States, shipping cost is not an issue. However, international shipping can be expensive. If it could be worked out that each person participating ships to someone in their own country that would work, or if some people agree to ship internationally that works too. When we fill out the form for the swaps on Blab, we have to mark down if we want to ship domestic or international. If you decide to go with this idea, please let me know, I would be more than happy to help manage it. - A-J wrote:

It depends of the interest around it. Maybe we can prevent overseas, our community is mostly composed of North American and European members. Maybe you can try to see if there are people enough interested in these two regions and surely we'll find a way to people that is out of these regions. We don't need to be many to make it work. |

| I've been in a customizing mood lately. I also cleared out the Mojo shelves of horses at Hobby Lobby. Here's the Arabian Mare in Foal painted to a chestnut going grey by me. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.](Still waiting for my pen to arrive to sign her.) Here with her sunburnt black friend [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I thought painting the eyes would drive me crazy but it was a lot of fun! I bought some super-fine paintbrushes and it wasn't hard at all. |

| Very happy with this girl, I wanted to do a sunburnt black color on her to go with the chestnut going grey and I'm loving the black on her! First I did a brown basecolor, then did darker brown and black on top, with a little more brown shading on top of the black to get the shaded brown/black effect. | I commented in your Arabian about that Suffolk once I haven't noticed that there were more customs. It is wonderful, Mojo horses are turning in excelent candidats to repaint, perfect sculpting, unpleasant painting, what do you great repainters want more? Thanks for sharing, LeeAnn! |

| Ha, if James tell me about Mojo's increasing sales in USA I already know who is the guilty. The grey color accentuates the very feminine design of that horse and as far as I can judge, you performed an excelent work with eyes and hairy parts. Any doubts of the beautiness of that figure or of your talent? No... |
