You're right about the rhino head proportions. The shape of the head is wrong and ears look forward when compared with the point where neck wrincles define the head. It all makes the head look shorter than it is and it is slightly short indeed. Nevertheless, it is a great figure anyway!

I showed allready a walkaround of the two Breyer Cougars, which Masha (Teardrop) gave me as a present..
But that was not all from her .. As always, she is surprising me with more things and this time was no exception.

Not a long time ago , she was on a very nice excursion in South Africa and she brought me this
so interesting looking and very tasty african chocolate, together with very cute Buffalo magnet :

Of course, I immediately eat the chocolate but I keep the package. It is with very interesting size ...it look`s like a book
And it is also very nice, that with selling this chocolate, they try to help for saving the Rhino ..

I needed her help to order these models , so she got them for me, but she didn`t let me to pay for them ... She just simply said : This is your new year present .
..I couldn`t fight with her for that ..

Very nice newcomers Kosta! I think the Afghan Hound is very interesting!

All wonderful models again from Teardrops

Those mammoths are perhaps the most charming of all ! WOW !!!
The lynx is AAA when it is at its best. This brand can truely find the sould of an animal...the lyx: Mysterius, alert, fuzzy and yet elegant

But of course to me that Afghan hound is the most wonderful .
To please dog show judges, this "Saluki of the cold mountains" has been bred completly handicapped by tons of fur, but this one is wonderful !
You see the elegant build, the aristocratic expression, and the ability of an explosion of speed
So totally unlike the poor dogs covered in a haystack, which we see at many dog shows

Great newcomers Kosta! I like best the Afghan hound. He looks very realistic.
He is a very well made Afghan hound and remember me at one of my own Afghan hounds I had many years
ago.  I don´t know the brand HANTEL, so I looked for more informations and found a company called
"Hantel Victorian Miniatures" Originally established in Warwick England in 1973 by Mrs Frances Wilson.

Have a look here, Kosta ? Could it be the same company ?

Yes, after I got this Pewter dog, I also made a internet research about the company ..
and I found this what you also found Yvette.
I tried to find more models of that brand, similar to this dog...but there is almost nothing.
Actually on Ebay, I found 2-3 models of animals, also made it from pewter..
like THIS DONKEY for example....a very cute one.
And I`m shure Susanne will love it :)

I love your Afghan hound.

Masha is giving you some very hairy gifts! Seriously, it is very kind from her and those are premium gifts. First you've got two mammots, they work very well together and maybe my favorite pair. They also represent two different species as tusks help showing and it is also a good news as I pointed in your great walk around.
I have this lynx but customized by our Pege in an Iberian lynx. It is a great figure! The Afghan is quite impressive actually, the work with the fur is formidable and the proportions seem very well studied.
