Hi, this is POP of FAN from DTF (and also belongs to STS Forum :) ), the uploader to PAPO's 2016 dino figurines on the DTF.
Sorry I am late, had a couple of things to take care of yesterday. I'll upload the Papo wild animal / marine life / cats, dogs, horse today. Pop of Fan, I have to thank you and Papo Korea for sharing all these relevant news with our community, it is one of the most exciting events of the year, to know new Papo releases! This one is particularly special once Papo is giving us absolutely fabulous figures. I hope we will keep with your precious cooperation! |

I hope a dino expert can help you better. First time velociraptors were presented in the film Jurassic Park, their size were more adjusted to a deinonychus. Of course it was written much before being presented in JP and that scientific researches turn information about prehistoric creatures very obsolete in a short time. So, they're not actually deinonychus with a more popular name but much probably only oversized velociraptors or a mix of both. JP influenced a lot the toy industry and the popular perception of their dinos, including the velociraptor. Many brands like Papo, sculpted their figures more according with JP then with scientific researches. So, these velociraptors are velociraptors although their shape could probably fit better a deinonychus. Confuse? I agree! |

| Being a HUGE Big Cat fan I'm so excited to see the Standing Tiger!!! I'll def buy two put them face to face for my zoo jungle playful sparring session! Also excited about the Mountain lion! Like the new updated chimp except would have preferred no baby, but looks good! As far as Papo 2015 only got the Standing Polar and just received about a month ago the Roaring Tiger! Look forward to getting two Standing Tiger, Mountain lion and the Chimp! |

| Keep looking at that Standing Tiger! If it looks like the one pictured, it is truly a masterpiece! Definitely a forerunner for 2016 Figure of the Year! Again, couldn't be more excited especially since I'm not purchasing as many animal figures anymore (2015 only 4 figs: Papo Standing Polar & Roaring Tiger and CollectA Orang and Sabertooth). |

| Thanks Andreas! Been collecting more NECA Planet of the Apes & Dawn of Apes figures as well as Dc Collectibles Arkham Batman figures. Still enjoy the animal figures(But not as much, til I saw that Standing tiger..) but only get the ones that are in that 1:22 to 1:20 scale, so it is limiting even if i like a figure I just buy the ones outside of that scale size(Even if a perfect figure or one species that's never been made). As a side note, since i always push for the "relative scale" for all animal figures, pretty much all figure companies use relative scale. Look at Hasbro, they make huge space ships for the figures so they're in relative scale and they do just fine sales wise! Or even the Arkham figures are in relative scale to each other (Check out how big the Clayface, Solomon Grundy and Killer Croc are compared to the 6.5" & 7" figures of the line). I like 2016 Papo elephant but no way will get it because too small next to my other animal figures for display (Sorry but I don't want elephants same size as lions...) Hopefully one day... companies will figure out that collectors will buy the figures even f they're bigger to fit for the relative scale! I know technically toys are for "kids" but not to be redundant, Hasbro Star Wars(Two toy action figure lines now 3 3/4' and 6") are for kids and we all know the parents buy them for their kids so parents will also pay for relative scale animal figures for their kids too. Another example is Papo Humpack is 11" long(Not sure what scale it is, but is a bigger Papo figure for sure) and goes for $18.61 on Amazon, so 1"20 or 1:22 (Animals such as elephants, rhinos, hippos etc.) relative scale paying $18-$20 dollars is def not unreasonable in my opinion. Anyway, this forum is still the best and love the support and passion from all collectors! You guys are the best! Wishing you all Happy Holidays!!! |

| Roger, I love Papo (Safari, CollectA), but I'm only buying the ones I like in the 1:20 to 1:22 scale. I"m really enjoying my NECA ape figures and DC Arkham Batman figures! PLENTY to collect in all areas (In Oct I started collecting orchids (Been collecting rare succulents(Focusing on Euphorbias) and cacti for the past 3 years)), but luckily and thankfully the Safari WW elephants work out just fine and look great when displayed with other's from that relative scale. Christophe thanks for clarifying the scale size. Again you all are awesome, love the info, walk arounds and custom figures! Happy Holidays to all! |
