COLLECTA 2016: WILDLIFE - Giant Eland Calf (88768)

So here we have the first antelope to be released in 2016.  It is a Giant Eland Calf.  We thought long and hard about which baby to produce and this is the first one.  No other baby antelopes this year but I do hope this will be the start of a range of babies for some of the single, lone adults in the collection.  

This calf is in a walking pose similar to it's parent and is a photo of the prototype.  There may be slight changes to the model such as a mini extension to the torso but this is essentially how the model will look.  I am so glad to have a young antelope from a unique species.  

The pose was modeled on a photo of a slightly older calf hence this one has it's horns just emerging. There was the possibility of creating a very young Eland but I think an older 'child' was suitable in this instance given all the young baby antelopes/goat/sheep we see across all other brands.

A great idea again , I'm not myself too much into calves but it is the first Giant eland calf model ever so I'm on the list... And it is so beautiful

I assume from your introductory comment that we will have unless one more antelope this year.
I am also not too much into calves but it doesn't mean that I am not able of seeing that this is an amasing figure. I even like the fact that it already have some visible horns. Pose is also great. I confess I was expecting a sable calf instead once there is already a couple of adults.

I really hope for sable and a scimitar oryx calves.
Are these three the last wild life figures for 2016? Or will there may be a carnivore?

So, there is unless an adult antelope this year. It is hard to guess, maybe a saiga, hard to know.
However, I believe that one of the hoofed animals is the announced zebra and I hope CollectA surprises us again. I think asking a grevy's is still too difficult to manufacture but from CollectA we can expect everything.

I am very much into calves ( ) , and this baby is just SO lovely !  
He will surely be on myshelf as soon as I can get hold of him

I like this age for a calf- it's a good idea, as a change from very young calves with their fathers.

Or even a mountain zebra.

Cute! I didn't know CollectA would really make babies for their animals,but i'd love to see others in the future. ^^

Well I can´t wait for little sableand black wildebeest in the future :) This calf is a real deal! Great pose, coloring, everything is real looking!! Wonderful!

Great. I hope two of them are antelopes. I suspect the third one would be a wild sheep. But who knows, it could be a zebra. Or a musk ox. However, systematically, musk ox is a sheep.
I can't wait until this Friday.

The Giant Eland Calf is awesome and is a figure I am so excited about adding to my collection.
