This year Safari stopped producing the Carnegie dinos, and re-launced some of the old, prehistoric mammals.
But they also launched 5 new "dinos"   Very Happy

For a dino-amateur like me, they aren't madly exiting with the matte paint and dull colours, but they get nicer when you get to know them better Wink

Especially I am in love with the Shunosaurus Very Happy
The Shunosaurus was an almost 10 tons plant-eater, which lived in Asia about 180 million years ago.

I took Mini-Shuno out on the terasse for picturetaking . He was completely baffeled by the size of the world...and all that FOOD !!!  Crocodile

But he loved the flowers too much ...gosh! Where is he now ??? silent

Ok. Found him ! Laughing
Let's start all over indoors :

He has a VERY long and lively tail. You have to take care when he gets happy and wags, because there are spikes on the tip of his tail  Shocked

But he has the most endearing smile I have ever seen on a dino  drunken
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

He is really a handfull, - good that he is tame  Laughing

On most drawings Shunosauruses do not have spikes on the back, but the reconstruction in the Museum in Helsinki shows that they did  study

Isn't he a charmer  cheers

I am also fascinated by all the detail of his skin, - and he has the funniest feet  Laughing

I hope you like him also. Btw, - what should I call him ?
sunny sunny sunny

Thanks for the humorous presentation, and congrats with your new pet. Wink
It looks like he has hands and thumbs like an ape, is that possible?

Laughing Yes, it does look like he has thumps and walks on his knuckles , - but I think we have to go back very, very, very far to find his relationship to an ape ( or us) alien Very Happy

Wonderful Susanosaurus! Laughing flower
Love these flowers and all your pictures. I think that what makes these hands and feet look strange is that we are used with sauropod figures with terrible looking toes that when we see something closer to reality, it looks surreal to us. Figure is quite funny, I should confess but that's an interesting species and I doubt there's a better one around. Very Happy

Thankyou, Roger , - I love my flowers, and am always very happy if I succeed to make them survive during winter, even if it is a terrible mess to have them indoors flower Very Happy

This is indeed interesting !!
I just made a fast google search, and can see that many paleontologists complain about wrong feet in illustrations Idea

I just got up, and our dear Croc already tought me something new ( again) today cheers

I love this Safari Ltd Shunosaurus, first because this animal is one of my favorite sauropods, it always looks as a likeable animal to me, don't ask me why please Laughing

I missed a few years ago a fantastic resin copy made by Galileo because I thought I could wait a bit before buying it, when I decided myself it was too late What a Face  I'm still inconsolable Sad

When Safari Ltd made this little beauty I jumped up and down with excitement... And I still don't buy it, sometimes one can change his bad habits Wink
