How many models in your collection, and how long have you been collecting for?

Just wondering how many models you have in your collection, and how many years you have been collecting for.

I have 506, which are all schleich, and i have been collecting for 10 years.

I dont know how many figurines i have. I started as i was 3 years and i collected around 10 years than. After this time i take a long long break and now i think a collect again since around 9 years

I have been collecting since my teens and I'm now in my 50s and probably have between 2,000-3000 models.

I've been collecting since I was six...I had over 200 horses at last count, but I've sold a few. If I add in my other models I'm not sure how many there would be. Mostly Schleich, like yours :)

I don't know what you exactly call "collecting"... does keeping our childhood toys count as collecting?

I'm up to 629 models now!

I think a few thousend figurines, i never count.

The number is not important, the important thing is to love them.

And we feel good collecting them.

Never counted all of mine but I have 278 wolf figures alone! I will have to count all the others someday as I more than likely have well over 1,000+.

As for the number of years I have been collecting? I've been going steady and strong since 1998. I was just a kid when I started but had (and still have) a huge passion for animal figures!

Well, I saw this topic, and I just had to write something about my collection. I have 458 figures in my collection, and it is growing, slowly but surely. I have been collecting animal figures for two or three years. I must say, though, that it's quite a bonus when you walk in to a consignment shop, and find a little bag of Schleich animals. So you buy them, thinking, "Well, there might be some good ones in here." Then, when you get home, you look the animals up, and Voila! There all ones you've been looking for! This situation I have just described, really did happen to me once. The reason why I have 458 figures in my collection is only because I have counted the elves and mythical people I collect too. Still, it's a great hobby, don't you think? Someday I'll show you all pictures of the figures in my collection, and then you will be able to see everything. It's really quite grand, my collection. There's just one problem: how to display it. I'm thinking of asking my dad to build me a display case. Just so you know, he is great with building stuff out of wood. He has even built huge bookcases that look like the Dr. Who police call-booth, the Tartus. Anyway, if ever I get a display case I will show you all. Well, I have to go now, but I'll try and get pictures of my figures soon.

My data base has about 2300, but it doesn't include some unidentified or generic things, so I'd say I have roughly 2400.

Edit: forgot to add for how long. My collecting has fluctuated over the years, but serious collecting like now has been since 2009 maybe, but I've collected off-and-on since 1997.

1260+ and I have been seriously collecting for 9 years now :)

I started collecting Schleich animals for my son about 9 years ago. I had a few hundred when I found this forum a couple of years ago. Here I got introduced to all the other brands that exist and all the beautiful models that are out there and now my collection probably counts 1000-2000, I have no idea, but I know I have spent waaaaay too much money!

I have been collecting since 1974 as kid. Today I own 4547 animals.

Some enormous collections here! I've been at it for about 3 years, and I'm up to 550 pieces (including a few plants), representing 500 species.

Yes! Except I only collect species that lived in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic.

I count all of mine; toys, models and even some of the magnets in my kitchen!  I haven't counted my collection for almost 10 yrs, but would put the total to be around 3,000+.  I've been collecting 61 yrs (started at the age of 4).  I still have a pair of Stuart Toys horses from my childhood.

I'm with you!  However, I've been collecting for over 60 yrs and have no idea of how many animals are in my collection.  Probably have at least 1,000 model horses of all materials, brands, and sizes.  I'm guessing my toys double, possibly triple that number.  I really don't know; I've never counted them all!

I have been buying Schleich since I was 3, seriously started collecting around 13 years old. I clean my shelves every year and its about time to do it again so I don't have a current count, but last years was around 2,500 figures. I mostly collect wildlife and farmlife models, but I have lots of dinosaurs and sealife figures as well as fantasy or historical.

If my database is up to date (it is not...I have about a dozen figures that I need to enter) I currently have 3760 animal figures.

At my peak I had almost 8000 figures. But if I had a record of every single one I've had...I've done a lot of trading/selling over my years of collecting.

Which is going on 20 years now! Although I find I am slowing more these days--despite so many well made models being out there, the difficulty in getting them has been part of it; and part of it is space, since I try not to collect something to just store it. Which, yes, I have over 3000 figures on display!
