| They defintely look the same as PEC. Maybe PEC manufactured them to a company that didn't want the manufacturer's marking on them. The problem is that we don't even know if PEC is a manufacturer. |

Secondly a wild boar (this one does look like a professional brand, the previous ones had more of a "handmade" character). I was fascinated as soon as I saw it... its dynamism, its legs in tension and its expressive face with open mouth and threatening tusks... it has a rather baroque style, some classic porcelain and an Austrian imprint... The material in this case is quite heavy.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] this wild boar looks like a kiln fired pottery - very heavy, quite robust but will shatter if dropped on a stone floor. I have quite a few fine porcelain figures and also on the other end of the spectrum - some kiln fired handmade pottery pieces and this has the same texture, roughness and look as a handmade pottery piece. The texture of the body shows a fine grainy look to it, which is what the sand grains in the clay of the pottery material consists of (unlike the smoothness and opacity of porcelain. Porcelain is very thin and lets light thru easily). You can also make out the tool marks used to scrape the coat with - leaving ridges that are not smooth or even - which is how grainy sand clay will react to being shaped with a wood or metal tool. I've made smallish 1/32nd animal pieces in porcelain and also pottery. Pottery pieces are very dense and heavy and make a clink clink sound if knocked (gently) against something hard. I have small animal pieces made by an American sculptor that are 1/32nd scale and handmade. |

The two white birds aren't marked? They look like a good copy then! |

| The cat is from this set of Wing Mau Kitties [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I know the dog, a China model, I am not sure it is this one from Taylor. His pictures lack a lot of contrast and it does not help a blind croc. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| The pomeranian looks like a copy of the NewRay model. The original is plastic, not rubber material. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Could someone identify the brand (and if it belongs to a collection) of this lemur? It is in rubber, scale like the Schleich and has a hole between the 4 legs as to place it in a pen or pencil. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

the hen family is beautiful! I have never seen little chicks on undulating grass like that before. Truly beautiful. And I really like the mallard family too! So well made. The Britains copy? is very similar to Britains but to me there seems to be a lack of detail in the feet area and the birds are looking just a little bit on the too fat side, and hence a lack of fine detail. The detail of the grass blades is spot on though. Is the base hollow underneath ? All my Britains geese are packed away otherwise I would have taken comparison pics for you. |
