Glyptodont (Glyptodon genus= carved teeth) from Starlux:

 This kind of gigantic armadillo (1,5T) lived during Pliocen and Pleistocen epoch, in South America prairies from where it reached later North America. It disapeared only 10 000 years ago maybe because of human hunting.

Because of its so strong armour, it could have been supposed to be invulnerable but we have evidence of jaguar predation on a glyptodont from Floride.

There are not many figurines of this imposant animal among historical brands (Ovomaltine/Yoplait/ Henkel) and modern ones (Invita, Schleich, WildRepublic, Kaiyodo..) and I don't know from which documentation, Mr Massat found his inspiration..

It's a bit sad that you have now collected all prehistorical Starlux mammals and birds, and we can't look forward to the next episode in this topic. Congratulations on completing your collection though!

That's an epic end to this saga. I love the felling of depth of these pictures and they look from a documentary. These giant armadillos were surely incredible and bizarre creatures and they are a good choice to the end of this wonderful story. Though, you are not allowed to stop with these delightful posts... et s'ill n'y a plus de pain à manger, ça ne me dérange pas de manger de la brioche.
