| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.](from Starlux) 30 millions years BP in what is now Egypt, two "moeritherium" which are.. elephants!.. before the croc of Limpopo river elongated their nose!.. :) ..and now the little game to spend time: There is an arsinotherium too, in this landscape, a huge animal with 4 horns on the muzzle and forehead. Who will find it first?.. |

| Adam found it first! How is it possible that the arsinotherium looks so distant? Wonderful Starlux oligarchy. Now I understand Napoleon's obsession for Egypt! |

First songbirds date from early Eocene, approximately 54 million years ago) . Holigocene, here presented, is between 34 and 25 millions years ago, so, almost surely they learned lots of nice songs during all these years! Considering only the extant birds, it is incredible the different songs and sounds they make, trying to find out how it was so many years ago seems a very interesting exercise. |

I understand why you like Starlux figures so much : they are tiny and thus, it is more easy to create settings for them. They are very convenient for dioramas. Anyway, this one looks great ! |

| 30 millions years B.P. in North America, Brontotherium (= thunder big beast) from Starlux: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]brontotherium belongs to a disapeared ongulate perissodactyl family close to Rhinos, tapirs and horses ones. It was bigger than contemporaneous white rhino with 2,5m at shoulder! Its eyes were curiously next to muzzle and eated Foliages and fruits.. Here yet, Mr Massat seems to have been inspirated from Zdenek Burian's picture: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| I feel like in the volcanic area of the Rocky Mountains, just a few years before a huge eruption. It is interesting to see how these creatures survived in native Americans culture just as thunder beasts even if obviously they didn't know the real creatures. i think the name is perfect and naturally Starlux couldn't miss this iconic animal in their rich range. Thanks for bringing them back to life. |

| Rogerio, when natives Indians were finding big bones of Brontotheriums after strong rains, they thought they were belonging to a kind of giants horses whose full gallops in the clouds, were the explanation of thunder! :) |

That's magic, I remember reading it when working the corresponding TAW page and I was a little puzzled with the array of names of these portentous animals. |
