- It is great your sister allowed you to share her horses too. About the Palomino, it is a very beautiful piece, these figures have a plastic that looks like glass so they are glossier than any real horse. It is particularly evident with the Palomino but I think it is intentional. However, Akhal-Teke horses, can show an evident metallic sheen in some of his colors. Not as evident as in that figure but probably more than what we expect.

Thank you Roger, yes she was very kind to let me share her Papo and Schleich! And that is so interesting, this Akhal-Teke horse definitely has that more metallic sheen! So even if Breyer did exaggerate it, I think as you say it suites their style and adds that extra beauty to the figure! The Arab stallion my mom had when I was younger had a definite red/copper metallic sheen to his coat. Not quite as pronounced as that Akhal-Teke and certainly not quite the Breyer, but he did glow. Some of his foals had that gleam to their summer coats also. So the Breyer is exaggerated, but to me it's acceptable- more so than some of the made up or incorrect colors. And a lovely collection of horses, Bonnie! |

| Thank you Sunny and Kelly! I think that the grey horse is bigger than 1/32 scale, I am so sorry because I'm not an expert but I would probably say she is about double the size (Maybe 1/16?) when I compare her to Breyer Stablemates (Which I think are 1/32 scale!) I hope this helps! And thank you so much for the information Kelly, and I definitely agree, I think that the Breyer's sheen is acceptable even if it's exaggerated, because with this sort of horse in real life like your Arab Stallion some almost 'glow'! |

| As I'm back to school soon, which sadly means I'll probably have less time, I decided to post this now! But STS will always be the perfect place to go for a break from work! Next up are squirrels, hedgehogs and a few other rodents too, and again a lot of variety! I LOVE squirrels, and after dogs and canines I think they would be my next favourite animal- I love seeing them in day- to- day life and could spend hours watching them! Which is why even after becoming a dog collector I couldn't resist the Papo Squirrel- it is absolutely stunning in every detail! The others are mostly Schleich, but there is also a giant squirrel (I think supposed to be a garden ornament ) and then in the same photo a few smaller models, made for dolls houses that are actually very detailed, I love the two Guinea Pigs! If there are any questions please ask, and if any photos are needed for TAW I would be very happy to take those as well! | Wonderful little woodland creatures! What brand are the two in front and to the right if the papo squirrel? _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Thank you Paige and Andreas! The two squirrels are actually both Schleich, I think one came in an advent calendar and the other from their treehouse set! But the style is surprisingly different- much more simplistic! |

| Wonderful squirrels and hedgehogs, and I also spotted the gorgeous Papo! I also will be returning to school soon, Tuesday specifically and even though I am over the moon to see my friends and my partner I will miss more time outside with the animals and the trees, as that has what has kept me going these past months, as well as the many amazing STS members _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Adam and Bonnie, STS can also be enjoyed just if you visit a few minutes per day. I am sure if you sort your personal things you will always find some time to be here and we also want to keep enjoying here your presence. Among this batch of cuteness with your hedgehogs and squirrels, surely Papo model is the star. |

| Next up tigers- an animal I love so much, and one with soooo many fantastic models of it by all the brands! But a special mention must go to the Papo standing tiger! It is absolutely amazing, possibly one of the best, if not the best of all plastic animals I have seen- it is sculpted and painted to perfection! I cannot believe that this beautiful model is mass-produced- each one must take so long to paint to such a high standard! It just shows that when Papo do a model well, they can make the most stunning animals! It was so good, that it was one of only a few models that I bought even after becoming a dog collector! In the first photo all but one are Schleich, their tiger family to the left are among some of my most favourite of the non-dog models: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The second photo probably has a few more mystery brands, and if any separate photos are needed for TAW I can definitely take these! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]From left to right: Made from bendy rubber, but for a model like this still well-sculpted, I might try and repaint him one day!, 2 Wing Crown variations, vintage Hong Kong model I think, but I'm not sure, Disney Tigger, AAA, Lego Friends, Jungle in my Pocket, 2 unknowns, Safari toob, unknown vintage model from my parents, it would have originally been without the paint but it seems they painted it, and a Moshi Monster! |
