Unknown brand Canadian or Sandhill Crane Empty
PostSubject: Unknown brand Canadian or Sandhill Crane   Unknown brand Canadian or Sandhill Crane EmptyThu 16 Jun 2011, 20:32

I found something special on ebay Germany a few weeks ago, and for a very small price of course, as you know me, haha. Laughing
It was sold as a stork, but i already saw that is was a crane on the pic on ebay.
Now that i have it, it seems to be a Canadian- or Sandhill Crane.
The size is between the 1:32 and 1:24 scale as it seems...
It is not marked with Hong kong or China or so, so it must have a decent brand i guess...
It is made from hardplastic, like Starlux or similar brands, but it is not marked at all, so when somebody has a clue about the brand of this bird, please tell me so! Very Happy

It is beauuutyful Willy I love you
Congratulations flower

Of course I do not know the brand, but that doesn`t mean a lot Laughing

I think there are very few cranes on the market, - is that right ?
Lots of storks, flamingoes, herons, but not many cranes question

Thanks you Phil, Christophe and Susanne! Very Happy

Yeah Christophe, we always could ask old man Willy, haha. geek
But i guess he doesn't have a clue this time, although the brand New Ray came through my mind, but i am not an expert in USA models... Laughing

You are right Susanne, not many cranes in the business, and that is why this model immediatly struck my (sharp) eye for rare models or animals.
You can find very good stuff in the section animal models on e-bay sometimes, without searching for certain brands... Rolling Eyes

Well Andreas, that is good news in the fact that you have him to, but now is the question where it came from, and which manufacturer did make it... Rolling Eyes

Thank you Mihnea, yes, it is nice indeed, it has no more detail then it needs... Very Happy

Nice Andreas, although your model looks the same, the material looks from of softer plastic, mine is made of a quit brittle hard plastic, and one of the legs was even broken when it arrived! Shocked
And your model has material between the legs of the model, and mine has its legs free.

The other bird looks like a little egret, or Kuhreiher in German... Rolling Eyes

I think, on the material, it will be a model made in Hong Kong, so around the 1970's...
But there are very fine models from there, and specially the early Hong Kong models(mostly copies from other brands) have the same detail as the original models... :)
