I will not collect Papo horses, I will not collect...

I will not collect ..... eeek, it does not seem to work very well

As Roger has already sucpected it, I may as well confess, - I have not been able to resist !
For an old Schleich collector, retired horses at very low prices are impossible for me not to buy when I see them.

When I got the old hippo from Belgium, the shop had several retired Papo horses for 2,99 Euros each - so.... and I LOVE them

I already have a variant, the fjords here. One is all painted, I can see that the colour of the plastic isa milky white. The other one (wiide dorsal stripe) is made from Fjord-coloured plastic

The old Appaloosa, - it is not like the picture where I bought him. There is one with a more light colouring. But it seems that even if there are plenty of pictures of him for sale, they are all this one when I ask.
So it seems to be a wonderful detective job to find the light one

The exmore was also from Belgium. He is a bit scratched, but wonderful
Perhaps the figuere is a bit strange, but they have done what many brands do not seem to be able to do : They have made a figuere that shows the essence/spirit of this originally hardy and tough pony :

This Arab is just gorgeous ! Why he was retired is beyond me

And of course the first ones they made. English thoroughbred no 51001 and 51007.
They look funny on pictures, but the mare is not bad. The designer has really thought about it... what is special about this breed ?

The Percehon is lovely, isn`t he ?

Again I got one that is very different from the picture in the shop. In the picture the Breton gelding is a gorgeous, dark, sooty red (chestnut) colour.
This one is very fine also, but I can see in Torben`s site that the dark one exists. Wonderful ! One more to search for

So, as you see, my I feared, it did not help much to repeat "I will not collect..."
And it is wonderful

They are all lovely Susanne, well done for not listening to yourself or you wouldn't of had these wonderful horses in your collection. The Percheron is gorgeous, they are one of my favourite heavy horses.
I also have the Papo thoroughbred, I bought it years ago, I always thought she looked like a police horse or something. Mine is different to your one, it's a lighter chestnut

Funny how these Papo horses are much nicer in real than in pictures

And, - yes, that thoroughbred does indeed look like a policehorse.

If you love horses and now are fascinated with Papo why not enjoy with it???
I'm sure soon or later some of this figures will turn very expensive and very wanted as collectibles.

I bought it when I failed my first driving exam (the practice one, not the teorical). lol, I felt so ungry that I had to buy it when I saw it in the shop... xD I also have the Arabian stallion in strange pose, the Thoroughbred mare (mine is also a bit lighter), the percheron, and look, the dark one you say :) His fur is not detailed, but it seems to be the same model:

I have googled and roogled and hoogled to try to find the old appaloosa

There are plenty of E-shops who show pictures of him, but either they do "not have him in stock" (Meaning they will never have him), or they admit that the one they have is the newer version, and the picture is wrong

One shop even sold me "the old version", but it was almost the one I had. Somewhat different, though, so that was almost ok.

But finally I tried T.G.F. toys in America, and THEY had him
I decided to risk to be plundered by "import" duty, and, ta-daaaaa :

I got the old Exmoore poney from Belgium a while ago. But he has had a hard lige and green and blue paint has rubbed on him. So I thought he might like a little friend from USA.

And , WOW, the new one is a completely different colour.

Having collected Schleich for several years, with all the difficulties and crazy prices, this is almost like a miracle
