| Cofalu is a vintage(and still working!) french companie that produced figurines very inspired of Clairet and Starlux in the seventies. Here some comparison pictures: (Cofalu on right side) It looks like the Clairet one but its painting is quicker. Here yet, same mold but different paintings and 2 evacuation rings on the Cofalu one. Here different mold from Clairet one. Here almost same mold but ears are low on Cofalu cheeta. url=https://servimg.com/view/19566230/11764] [/url] The same here.. .. and here! same mold as the Clairet one but slimer. Almost same mold as the Starlux one but not same painting! here together with a bison more, there were many others I don't have! Cofalu also produiced cheaper monochromatic models: (here same mold as the Clairet one) (here too) (here too)

| Very interesting topic! Those are not direct mould copies, they just used the other figures tas reference to sculpt their own prototypes. At least it is what seems to me. Cheaper paint, defensive ears, very nice piece of history of this business. |

| Cofalu has one of the most (if not the most) wonderful figures, in my opinion, of French production: the leopard/black panther galloping on two legs. |

| Yes I know it. There is a black version but some of us think it is more surely a cheeta! Ricardo, if you have some, don't hesitate to post them here! Thanks to you both Rogério and Ricardo.

| Great comparison. They are very similar to Clairet and Starlux. Did they always make imitations or did they also have original sculpts? I didn't realise they still existed, but yes, they do, and they still make animal figures too! Cofalu reptiles Cofalu sea animals |

| Yes Roger, Cofalu produiced its own original line but with models often inspired from Starlux or Clairet ones though, some are true original sculpts like the running leopard/cheeta Ricardo mentionned just above.. (here picture from TAW:) .. and some others like the lion above or the ones you can see on "TAW Cofalu" like Elephant, rhino, osterich, one croc, chimp.. :) Thank you for the links Roger! |

| Some years ago I had bought 2 Cofalu cheap bazar sets in a super market to get these chimp.. .. because they fit rather well with my Starlux african apes: With their small ears and slim bodies, they could pass for Bonobos! :) |

so beautiful Alain! I love this beautiful brand. It's great to see these comparison pics and how all the ears are flattened. I wonder if that made the printing process easier? It makes me think that Cofalu copied Clairet but couldn't quite get the ears right in the printing process. Copies are usually inferior in some respect, so maybe they didn't have the skills to attend to the ears properly? What do you think Alain?? I love both of these zebras. The Starlux is an absolute classic! And the Cofalu has beautiful very slim legs, made even more exaggerated with the thin stripes on the coat. The curly tailed big cats are so elegant! no matter what colour they are in:) and I love the lion moulds in the plain colours which really shows off their fur details more. Plus the tiger body looks so detailed in this plain colour too. |

| Great topic Alain, we discovered so many things about this brand recently I will add a few comparison pics soon. I love your two cheap chimps, they are really nice and I would love to catch one one of these days. It should be a good recruit for my small scales shelves. Nevertheless I can't see a Bonobo when I look at him. @sunny the green zebra is a copy of the Clairet one |

| Many thanks to you both Annette and Christophe! Annette, like Christophe wrote it, all the models in the bag have the same mold as Clairet ones. The beautiful gorilla you don't know is the one of WWF collection from Starlux. :) Christophe, I hope you will add pictures more to complete the subject!.. and don't worry longer for that little chimp! :) |

| Recently arrived this little bag: Even if no brand name is mentionned on the bag, we can be sure it is from Cofalu because of the low ears of the tapir and hyaena: |
